Did you recognize every actor in the Until Dawn 2 trailer?

Look, horror games love one thing above all else: putting extremely attractive people in life-threatening situations and asking us to recover afterwards. Until Dawn 2 absolutely continues that tradition. The sequel's cast is filled with Netflix stars, horror veterans, gaming icons, and at least a few people who look like they've survived the haunted forest once before.

We still know basically nothing about the actual plot, which honestly feels very on-brand for a mystery-driven, high-pressure game where everyone makes the worst decisions possible, but the casting reveal alone says a lot about the vibe of the sequel. So before we all inevitably join the characters we'll spend ten hours desperately trying to keep alive, here are all the confirmed cast members for Until Dawn 2 so far, and how you probably know them.

Andy Yu

3-1

Andie Ju is best known for Beef, which means she already has experience surviving deeply stressful situations caused solely by other people making terrible decisions. Great preparation for Until Dawn.

Her performance in Beef stood out because she felt incredibly grounded in the midst of all the escalating chaos, which is exactly the kind of energy horror ensembles desperately need. Someone needs to react to scary events like a real person instead of immediately sprinting to a dark basement because they heard something strange.

Matt Mercer, Joe Manganiello, and Ashley Johnson are just a few famous faces who enjoy slaying dragons.

Tanner Buchanan

5-1

Tanner Buchanan became a breakout star thanks to Cobra Kai, where he spent several seasons fighting people, breaking down, and managing to do both at the same time.

He also appeared in He's All That, proving that he can survive a modern teen drama, which can be harder than surviving a horror game. Buchanan has a very specific “looking cool while actively stressed” energy that is genetically engineered for interactive horror.

Janina Gavankar

6-1

Janina Gavankar has one of those professions where every time you look at her, you realize that somehow she has been in everything. True Blood, The Morning Show, yes, Star Wars Battlefront 2.

She has worked across sci-fi, fantasy, action, horror and prestige television so consistently that her inclusion immediately made the actors seem more serious. He also naturally has the air of someone who knows more than everyone else in the room, which is always valuable in horror media.

Sarah Catherine Hook

7-1

Sarah Catherine Hook has become one of the most recognizable up-and-coming names in modern horror and thriller television. Between First Kill and The White Lotus, she's built a strong reputation for performances that feel polished and just a little unsettling.

He also has an incredible energy for something bad to happen on this lavish vacation, which fans of The White Lotus will totally understand.

Gia Kim

8-1

Gia Kim broke through on XO, Kitty, where she quickly became a fan favorite thanks to her charisma and complicated social dynamic. Which, to be honest, is pretty much the whole basis of Until Dawn as a franchise.

Half the tension in these games comes from the monsters. The other half comes from attractive young adults who make eye contact after someone in the booth says something devastating.

Hannah Kepple

9-1

Another Cobra Kai alum, Hannah Kepple, is best known for playing Moon, one of the few characters on the show who has consistently felt functional.

That alone honestly makes it overqualified for a horror game. Kepple has a very natural, likable screen presence that tends to make the audience grow attached to the characters quickly, which is dangerous in a game where survival is never guaranteed.

Gavin Leatherwood

10-1

Gavin Leatherwood became a favorite on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, where he portrayed Nicholas Scratch, known as one of TV's most aggressive supernatural disasters.

Leatherwood already feels strangely ideal for horror. He has a background in dark fantasy, emotionally chaotic casts, cursed environments, and scenes lit entirely by ominous blue lighting. At this point, Until Dawn honestly feels like a natural career progression.

Raymond Lee

11-1

Raymond Lee is best known for helming the Quantum Leap reboot, where he had to jump between sci-fi, emotional drama, comedy and existential crises every week.

He also appeared in Top Gun: Maverick, which means he's officially entered the very exclusive category of actors who have gone from military jets to probable supernatural terror. A surprisingly flexible path to recovery.

Dacre Montgomery

12-1

Dacre Montgomery has already mastered the art of looking deeply unsettling at all times through his role as Billy in Stranger Things.

Seriously, even before the supernatural monsters showed up, Billy walked around like he personally knew where the horror soundtrack came from. Montgomery brings an intensity to pretty much every role he plays, which makes him feel almost scientifically designed for Until Dawn.

He was also a Red Ranger in 2017's Guardians of the Galaxy, which gives him experience in both volatile drama and giant CGI mayhem. Very transferable skills.

Spencer Moore II

13

Spencer Moore II has steadily gained recognition through projects like Brilliant Minds and All American: Homecoming.

Compared to some of the more vocal personalities in the cast, Moore tends to bring a more grounded and understated acting style, which is essential in horror stories. If every character immediately panics, the whole thing collapses. You need at least one person to react to a scary situation with the energy of someone who's had a really uncomfortable evening.
