First revealed at the October 2025 Halo World Championships, Halo: Campaign Evolved is the first large-scale remake from Halo Studios using Unreal Engine 5 instead of the studio's proprietary Slipspace Engine. When it came to remodeling Halo: Combat EvolvedHalo Studios decided to modernize the game with several controversial features, namely the addition of a sprint mechanic and brand new story missions to the game, which some fans felt were unnecessary.
