The Dragon Ball Super section of the franchise introduced some of the best characters in the entire story, chief among them being Universe7's resident God of Destruction, Beerus. Along with Whis, Beerus not only expanded upon the broader lore and cosmology of the series, but also proved to be one of the best additions to Dragon Ball as a whole.

Due to his role in Universe 7, it's no secret that Beerus is the most powerful being in his universe, as well as one of the most powerful characters in the entire multiverse. Despite this, however, they exist Dragon Ball characters that are pretty close to him in overall strength, so let's see who it is!

Broly's potential means he may one day match Beerus

Debut Arc: Broly Arc

For some, this may be a questionable choice over Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, and Piccolo, especially considering how Broly is the least experienced of the 5 main heroes. Despite this, his potential is possibly the greatest of them all, which was seen in how he was able to overcome 2 Super Saiyan Blues in his very first serious fight, even though he lost his mind in the process.

In the manga rendition of the Super Hero arc, Beerus implied that none of the main characters in the series are even close to his level yet, which includes Broly. However, his growth rate and unmatched destructive power mean that he will inevitably match and perhaps even surpass Beerus later in the series. His raw power in his base Super Saiyan form was enough to match Beast Gohan and Divine Transformations, so with more training, Broly can even unlock stronger states.

Moro has become an absolute nightmare for the heroes

Debut Arc: Galactic Patrol Prisoner Arc

Moro was an ancient evil that was active millions of years ago. When he returned to the main environment, his power grew to astronomical proportions after consuming the energy of many planets. However, he eventually reached his greatest state after absorbing Merus and gaining the ability to use Ultra Instinct, something not even Beerus could do.

Despite this, this form was overpowered and defeated by Mastered Ultra Instinct Goku, showing that Beerus is still superior to it. However, Moro would then overflow with power and eventually become Planet Moro, a titanic monster whose power was so great that Beerus was about to take action against him anyway, showing how close he was to Beerus in power.

Vegito combines the power of Goku and Vegeta

In the world Dragon Ballfusions are more or less considered cheat codes because they combine the power of two already powerful warriors and further multiply them with almost no downside. The first ever shown was Vegito, who made his long-awaited return to the series in the Goku Black arc.

Currently, Goku and Vegeta can tap into the God Ki within them, making them some of the strongest mortals in the multiverse. Vegito will add to their strength plus get an extra boost, easily approaching Beerus' level, especially when considering the possibilities if Goku and Vegeta teamed up now using their Divine Transformations.

Gogeta is an even more stable fusion than Vegito

Everything that has been said about Vegito's case of being so powerful can just as well be said about Gogeta, as the two fusions are equal in every way and really only differ in which of their votary's personalities is more dominant, with Gogeta having more of Goku's personality and Vegito favoring Vegeta. However, the real difference lies in the stability of the fusion.

Although Potara's earrings will time out early if the fusion power is too great, Fusion Dance provides a straight 30 minutes of fusion regardless of power output. Furthermore, if Gogeta appeared in the present day using Goku's Ultra Instinct and Vegeta's Ultra Ego, fans would see a perfect warrior strong enough to even possibly defeat Beerus.

All the other Gods of Destruction exist around the level of Beerus

Every single one of the universes in the multiverse Dragon Ball has a Destroyer God who is typically the strongest in the entire universe. With their ability to use the Energy of Destruction and the terrifying power of Hakai, these figures are capable of destroying entire planets with the touch of their fingers.

IN Dragon Ball Super manga, there was an exhibition match between these Destroyers before the Tournament of Power, in which they all fought with everything they had. Although Beerus took them on at once and was one of the last 2 standing, proving to be the strongest Destroyer, all of their strength was shown to be more or less relative, with only Beerus and Quitela definitely standing above the others.

Black Frieza may be the first destroyer-level mortal

Debut Arc: Granolah the Survivor Arc

The Granolah arc had one of the most shocking and exciting ways an arc has ever ended, marking Frieza's return to the setting. However, this time his power in his brand new Black Frieza state was so great that he was able to take out Goku and Vegeta with a single hit, which is even more impressive considering they were in their god forms.

The reason why Frieza was able to do this was because he managed to get 10 years of training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, which harnessed his unique potential, which according to fans made him the first mortal to reach the level of the Destroyer Gods. While he may not be as strong as Beerus, he is definitely close and can be stronger than some of the weaker Gods of Destruction.
