The main characters from Dragon Ball franchises are incredibly strong and capable warriors who owe much of their power and renown to their incredible techniques. Over the years, notable fighters like Goku and Vegeta have created some of the best techniques and attacks ever seen in the series.

However, someone who is definitely on par with them in this regard is none other than everyone's favorite Namekian Piccolo. Through his many years as one of Universe 7's greatest warriors, Piccolo has created many powerful techniques for the world Dragon Ballso let's go over the biggest tools in his arsenal.

Masenko was originally Piccolo's Beam Attack

Masenko is a signature attack that Gohan used in his youth and often used it against some of the strongest enemies in the early days Dragon Ball Z. To many, it was essentially seen as Gohan's answer to Goku's Kamehameha or Vegeta's Galick Gun, and while it has become synonymous with the young Saiyan, the attack is originally Piccolo's.

Debut in the original Dragon Ball series, Masenko used Piccolo to deal great damage to his enemies. Basically, the user raises their hands to their forehead to charge a yellow beam of light that they push outwards, making it an iconic and destructive attack in anyone's hands.

Piccolo's Gigantification makes him even more formidable

Although not an attack like the others, it is still a very useful technique that Piccolo can use due to his unique Namekian physiology. As the name suggests, this technique allows Piccolo to grow exponentially, which is a pretty handy trick when you're facing powerful baddies of a similar ilk.

However, in the Super Hero arc, Piccolo admits that the overall energy benefits of his giant form aren't really significant, as he remains at the same power level as before. However, the real advantage is that this form greatly increases his physical strength and his regular attacks are much larger, as seen when he restrained Cell Max.

The Hellzone Grenade is the ultimate trap

Although an incredibly powerful warrior, Piccolo exudes real strength as a tactician, often using his incredible intellect to formulate plans on the spot. A great example of this was when he used his awesome Hellzone Grenade against Android 17, showing just how unorthodox a fighter he can be.

This technique basically shows Piccolo firing off many individual Ki balls that then surround his opponent instead of hitting them from the front. By completely surrounding his enemy, giving them no room to escape, Piccolo ends up landing every single one of these shots on them, dealing incredible damage.

A light grenade is an extremely powerful one-shot

Where the Hellzone Grenade is a tactical trap to ensure his opponent is unable to escape, the Light Grenade is a one-shot technique that packs a lot of Piccolo's energy into it. Concentrating all of his Ki into a single point, he launches an attack that trades the piercing power of his signature attack for pure attack power similar to a big bang attack.

Although this attack failed against Cell when Piccolo initially used it, he tried it once more in the Moro arc. However, this variation of the technique was a thousand times more powerful, to the point that if it had worked, it would have killed Piccolo as well, as it consumed all of his energy.

The special beam cannon is Piccolo's greatest creation

The ultimate piercing attack

Throughout Dragon Ball franchise, there have been many attacks that feature a narrow, focused beam designed to pierce through its target. However, none are on par with the legendary Special Beam Cannon, which is in contention for the most powerful attack ever used by a mortal in the series.

Focusing all of the user's Ki on a singular point in their fingers, it then fires a sharp beam of energy that has so much penetrating power behind it that it can pass through almost anything it's used against, provided it's fully charged. Although the strongest version we've seen is the one used by Gohan Beast, it's still Piccolo's ultimate attack, which is even more powerful in his Orange Piccolo form.
