The Grand Theft Auto 6 cover reveal and pre-order date trailer may have lasted just over 30 seconds, but it's already racked up more views than almost all of the month's biggest reveals.
As the world has been painfully aware ever since Trailer 2 dropped over a year ago, the world has been absolutely desperate for any news about GTA 6. Despite all the demands for a third trailer and more information, Rockstar has been completely silent during that time, leaving us with Take-Two's promise that no more delays are on the way.
That finally all changed a few days ago when Rockstar decided to drop a bombshell on GTA 6 fans with an incredibly short trailer that revealed the game's cover, its main theme, and the fast-approaching pre-order date of June 25th. Even though the trailer was so short it could have just been an email, the power of GTA has already caused it to overshadow most of the biggest announcements this month.
The GTA 6 pre-order trailer already has more views than most big SGF reveals
There's only one game left… So far
As pointed out by Twitter user SynthPotato, Rockstar's official Grand Theft Auto 6 cover art upload has already managed to rack up nearly nine million views since it was posted two days ago. That number keeps growing, which is pretty impressive considering the trailer is just over 30 seconds long.
SynthPotato also pointed out that this number of views means that the new GTA 6 trailer has already managed to beat the lengthy God of War Laufey reveal that debuted at PlayStation's State of Play show. While Synth suggests that this makes it the most watched trailer of the entire month of game reveals, that's actually not the case.
As we reported earlier in the month, after most of the big Summer Game Fest shows were gone, there was one trailer that surprisingly led the pack as the biggest reveal of the season. I'm talking, of course, about Spyro: A Realm Beyond, which led the pack with over 10 million views a few weeks ago.
Now, more than a week later, Spyro's next game is still the biggest announcement of the Summer Game Fest with a whopping 16 million views, almost double what the GTA 6 reveal trailer currently has. While GTA's power is clearly very strong, it still hasn't been enough to overtake Spyro as the most viewed trailer of the month.
