Zenless Zone Zero reveals two new characters for version 3.1

HoYoverse's urban action RPG recently welcomed the debut of its biggest update of the year, adding a brand new district to New Erid. The version 3.0 update brought players to Roscaelifer, a forbidden zone that is off-limits to most civilians in the city. The patch officially kicked off Season 3 of the game's main story and also added three characters to the roster with the debut of Norma and Velina as new S-Rank characters, alongside Pyrois as a “battle avatar” for Belle and Wise. Now, HoYoverse is teasing even more playable units to arrive in the game's next patch.

Zenless Zone Zero reveals Remielle and Sigrid

Zenless Zone Zero has officially introduced the new S-Rank version 3.1 characters via the game's social media channels. Remielle Dan is expected to debut as the first new character of version 3.1 and become the third playable member Zenless Zone Zero's Void Hunters. Remielle is expected to add a special new elemental variant to the game based on the Wind attribute, similar to the unique elements given to the other Void Hunters Miyabi, Yixuan and Ye Shunguang. Sigrid is confirmed to be joining the roster as an ice attack character from Roscaelifer's Airspace Patrol Division. Zenless Zone ZeroVersion 3.1 is currently expected to be released on July 29.

HoYovere's marketing for Zenless Zone ZeroThe new characters have already raised several questions from fans. The reveal posts for Remielle Dan and Sigrid were shared unusually close together, with just two hours separating the “drip marketing” for the characters. HoYovere usually spreads its marketing for new characters over different days, revealing new units in the order they appear on the Gacha banners. Players have even speculated that the banners for the pair may run at the same time, similar to the version 1.4 update that featured identical banners for S-Rank characters Hoshimi Miyabi and Asaba Harumasa available throughout the duration of the patch.

Alongside the release of Remielle Dan and Sigrid, version 3.1 will likely mark another major milestone for the HoYovere RPG. Zenless Zone Zero will officially celebrate its second anniversary on the 4th of July, with the game's official celebrations expected to arrive in the next update. The first anniversary celebrations in version 2.1 rewarded players with everything from a plethora of polychromes to a free standard S-Rank character and S-Rank W-Engine. HoYovere has not officially confirmed any of his specific plans Zenless Zone Zerosecond anniversary.
