SteamThe Free-to-Keep promotion for July 2026 is shaping up to be a bit thin at the time of writing, with backend tracking only confirming two full games for the upcoming month. The silver lining is that Steam will likely add another promotion during July without necessarily being confirmed by backend data in advance.
For anyone unfamiliar, Steam's Free-to-Keep Promotion is essentially a publisher-run giveaway system where a game is available for free for a limited time (usually around a week, though it can vary). If players claim it during this window, it will be permanently added to their library (with no additional strings attached). In general, not every game that ends up on a Promotion will show up in this backend data with much attention, but virtually every game mentioned via Steamdb's backend data will end up on a Free-to-Keep Promotion before it's all said and done. None of the games listed are available yet, but will be available sometime in July 2026.

The new open-world survival game on Steam is satisfying and true to LEGO-style building
There are plenty of open-world survival games out there, many of which borrow from Satisfactory, but the latest adds a unique LEGO twist.

The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu – Swords of the Lost Explorers Pack
By the looks of it, Steam's Free-to-Keep Promotion has almost definitely confirmed the addition The Life and Sufferings of Sir Brante and Another Zombie Defense HD for July 2026. A bonus bonus is confirmed for next month and that is the Lost Explorers' Swords Pack for Mound: Omen of Cthulhu. Release is set for July 15th, Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is a Lovecraftian first-person cooperative horror game where players search for hidden treasure in a cursed jungle, complete with Cthulhu mythology, psychological horror elements, and an emphasis on communication. To be clear, The Mound: Omen of Cthulhu is NOT free-to-play, just an in-game content pack through the FTK Steam promotion.

The Life and Sufferings of Sir Brante
Check it out on Steam (89% very positive reviews)
The Life and Sufferings of Sir Brante is a hardcore narrative RPG that immerses the player in the entire life of the title character. This hardcore narrative RPG on Steam allows players to live their entire lives under an oppressive empire, starting as a child in a lower-class family all the way to adulthood. Similar to the decisions made in Disco Elysiumplayers must navigate social rules, political expectations, and religious authority.
Choices matter in this game on Steam because that's what the whole game is about. Not only do the players make these choices if they define Sir Brante, but they also affect the player's role in society, what relationships develop and form, and even what opportunities are presented to the players later in their lives. Overall, it's not the easiest addition, but it's steep, hard, and challenging, all in a unique way.
Another Zombie Defense HD
Check it out on Steam (87% very positive reviews)
While The Life and Sufferings of Sir Brante is a unique spin on the growing genre of disco-like games, Another Zombie Defense HD is the opposite end – so cliche that its title even points to the humor in it.
It's just one of many zombie games on Steam where the basic premise is simple and straightforward: survive waves of zombies by building defenses, stockpiling weapons, and fighting off hordes. It has more of a classic arcade gameplay loop that's even better when played in co-op, so the co-op mayhem alone makes it worth picking up.
