How to catch a home invader in life is strange: double exposure

You knew something strange was going on at Caledon University. Max traveled between two timelines, not to mention that weird image that shows Max pointing a gun at Safi. But at the end of the third chapter, Life is Strange: Double Exposure takes things in an even weirder direction.

As the episode draws to a close, Max returns home to find out someone broke into her house. There is glass on the floor and her memorabilia and furniture in Arcadia Bay have been looted. And when she approaches her dark room to find the culprit, it turns out that the person responsible for the break-in is… familiar.

Chasing Down Max's Doppelganger

Once Jiná Max escapes from your house, she will lead you on a chase through the snow. The first real obstacle comes when Other Max runs over a tree bridge but drops her into a ravine once she gets to the other side.

Fortunately, you have access to another tree bridge in another ravine. Turn around and you should see blue sparks indicating the Dead World swap point just behind you. Switch and then cross the now intact bridge.

Max pulses to see traces of the Living World in Life is Strange Double Exposure

There is no way to the Living World on the other side of the log. Use Max instead Pulse the ability to see a doppelgänger footprints in the snow. Follow them, pulse often enough to make them reappear.

When Max says, “How do I know where?” the pulsation will tell you what the answer is: correct.

Keep pulsing and following until you reach a crack in the wall. Once Max pushes through, a zoom and cutscene will start. When you're on the other side, you'll see this bridge:

Look to the right to find the portal to the Living World and use it. Once you get to the other side, you're ready to meet your doppelgänger under the bridge.
