For years, gamers have speculated about the price tag of the long-awaited Rockstar Games Grand Theft Auto 6. Many believed there was a real chance it could be $100, especially if it included a multiplayer portion at launch (which fans now know it won't). And while that long-theorized price of the most anticipated video game of all time is accurate when you look at its $100 Ultimate Edition, which includes some flashy Vice City clothing and a few exclusive in-game stores, gamers were pleasantly surprised to find out that the Standard Edition costs just $80. However, the $80 price tag goes from a pleasant surprise to an insulting demand when paired with games that are a decade and a half old.
While fans are still waiting for the official Black Ops and Black Ops 2 release dates for the ports, as Activision has so far said they'll be coming sometime in July, fans have been quick to notice some recent price changes for these classic games on other storefronts. Fans and game retailers alike naturally assume that's why Black Ops and Black Ops 2 their prices have just been reduced to $40, which is the price of the PS4 and PS5 ports. And while two old, albeit popular, games will split $80, what's even more frustrating is that getting their DLC could greatly exceed the total cost GTA 6.

Most OP PS5 PSA: Call of Duty: Black Ops weapons are already clear
The original Black Ops is coming to modern PlayStation consoles sometime in July, so it's worth brushing up on the best weapons.
Ports of Black Ops 1 and 2 are apparently not complete
Assuming this logic holds, and owning BO1 and BO2 together will actually cost players $80, then the recent DLC price cuts are similarly revealing. Map packs dropped from $15 to $10 Black Ops 1 and Black Ops 2with BO2 The Season Pass is changing from $50 to $30. The only real reason for this change now is that the modern PlayStation ports the classic Cod games have just been announced if these prices will apply to the new ports. Assuming this is true, completion of the original Black Ops and Black Ops 2 can cost players:
- Black Ops 1 base game: $40
- Black Ops 1 DLC Packs: $40
- Black Ops 2 base game: $40
- Black Ops 2 Season Pass: $30
- Total: $150

Since the original Black Ops lacked a Season Pass – this kind of access to content wouldn't become standard for a few more years – all of its DLC will actually be more expensive to get than in BO2more modern game of this pair. And while some may argue that players should just ignore the DLC, they do GTA 6 and these ports for the same price, the reality is that DLC is an integral part of these games. We miss maps like Kowloon dearly, while Grind has been remastered so many times in more recent games that many will assume it was the base multiplayer map in BO2. That's not even acknowledging the elephant in the room that it is Cod Zombies. Sure, Kino Der Toten and even Five are iconic, but missing things like Call of the Dead and Moon is just wrong. Mob of the Dead and Buried in BO2 they are a similar story as many see them as truly a must-have experience.
GTA 6 full version is $50 cheaper than BO1 and BO2 and that's just not right
Two bases Black Ops games that cost the same as a brand new, high-tech experience from the most beloved game studio were already questionable enough. However, the idea that the Ultimate Edition for GTA 6 is 50 dollars cheaper than unaltered versions of some old school Cod games — Black Ops 1 and 2 they're just ports, not remasters or remakes – sure to cause a backlash. Right now, the need to buy the DLC again is just an assumption, but fans will know if it's something they need to do very soon. And while there's certainly room for Activision to bundle games and DLC together so superfans can own everything, there's really no telling if they'll do it. It sure looks like owning the top two so far Black Ops games and their similarly impressive DLC on PS5 will cost fans $150, a notion that will be extremely hard not to offend.
