A few licensed games may be removed from the list soon Xbox Shop, p Funko Fusion and Star Trek Legends both are potentially at risk of removal. Funko Fusion is currently available at a deep discount on Xbox, while Star Trek Legends it was recently removed from the Sony and Nintendo stores.
Licensed games have been a staple of the gaming industry since its inception, with developers often teaming up with popular brands. A wide variety of television shows and movies have been turned into video games throughout gaming history, both by directly adapting the source material and taking inspiration from popular properties. Some licensed games have even seen huge success as love letters to their IPs, including critically acclaimed games like Hogwarts heritage and LEGO Star Wars series. Now, Microsoft may be preparing to remove two licensed games from the Xbox Store.

Following PlayStation's announcement to end support for physical discs, Xbox may be considering doing the same.
Xbox may drop Funko Fusion and Star Trek: Legends
Microsoft may be preparing to remove both Funko Fusion and Star Trek: Legends from the Xbox Store based on recent changes on and off the platform. Funko Fusion is currently available at a deep discount on the Xbox Store, 95% off, with fans speculating that Xbox may be planning to drop Funko crossover action game from the store. Rumors about Star Trek: Legends have largely grown after it was similarly removed from the PlayStation Store and Switch eShop in recent weeks. Microsoft has not officially commented on the expected removal of any of the games.

The pair of Xbox licensed games received largely mixed reviews from fans on Xbox. Funko Fusion was considered a commercial failure upon launch, even leading to the dismissal of 10:10, despite the game featuring crossovers with everything from Back to the future and Masters of the Universe on Office and Five Nights at Freddy's. Star Trek: Legends received a similarly lukewarm reception from fans, with many comparing it negatively to mobile strategy games, and experiencing numerous technical issues upon release.
Potential delisting Funko Fusion and Star Trek: Legends would be nothing new for licensed games, with many of them previously removed from online stores. Expiration of licensing agreements is usually a major factor in the removal of branded games, where the developer no longer has a valid license to display certain characters owned by the source material. Popular 2026 edition Mixtape has recently seen considerable controversy regarding the possibility that it may be removed in the future, although Annapurna Interactive later confirmed that Mixtape's music licenses were paid in perpetuity.
While Xbox is potentially losing two licensed games in July, the console has plenty of exciting new games on the way throughout the month. July 9th will welcome the highly anticipated release Assassin's Creed Black Flag re-synceddebuting as a complete remake of the fourth main series Assassin's Creed game. Xbox is also gearing up for one of its biggest games of the year at the end of July and getting ready to launch Halo: Campaign Evolved July 28. A stacked lineup of Xbox games released throughout July should help offset the potential loss Funko Fusion and Star Trek: Legends.
