Atlus has released several acclaimed JRPGs so far in 2024, but surprisingly one of the highest rated games it released this year, Shin Megami Tensei V: Revengetechnically it's not even a new game. Instead, it's an expanded edition RPG originally released in 2021. This simply titled Shin Megami Tensei Vwas released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch to mostly positive reception, although it was considered a disappointment by some. His Revenge however, the re-release brings a lot of new additions to the base game, including a second campaign. These changes are so significant that it seems Shin Megami Tensei V: Revenge offers a completely new experience compared to its predecessor.
Currently, SMT V: Revenge is available not only on Nintendo Switch, but also on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Windows PC. This isn't the first game from Atlus' back catalog, expanded or otherwise, to see a fully cross-platform release. Some of the classic RPGs from Japanese developers like Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Goldwere brought to all current-gen systems in 2023. While it's nice that these older titles are now available on multiple platforms, Atlus should repeat what they did with Shin Megami Tensei V: Revenge and bring some of its modern games to multiple devices.

Atlus should bring some of their modern games to multiple platforms like they did with SMT V: Vengeance
Catherine: Full Body Trapped on PS4 and Switch
Atlus has recently adopted a multi-platform strategy, but there are still a few recent games from the company that are not available on all systems. 2019 Catherine: Whole bodyfor example, it can't be played on Xbox or PC, as it's unfortunately stuck on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. However, there is a complication. This title is an SMT V: Revenge– a re-release of the 2011 puzzle game titled Catherine. While the original iteration of the game, retronamed Katerina Klasickáis available on modern Xbox consoles and Windows PCs, it is improved Whole body there is no issue. Catherine: Whole body it has a lot of new content that isn't in the base game, so it's a shame it's not accessible on more devices.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is not available on Xbox or PC
The same can be said about 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Like Catherine: Whole bodythis RTS game published by Atlus was released in 2019 and is currently only available on PS4 and Switch. The studio that created 13 Sentinels: Aegis Riman indie company called Vanillaware, has historically been very selective about the systems it releases its games on, often opting for a PlayStation exclusive over a daily cross-platform release. That being said, his latest game, 2024 Unicorn Overlorddebuted simultaneously on PlayStation, Xbox and Switch, a first for the company. Considering that, it's possible that Atlus may port 13 Sentinels to other devices (at least Xbox) once too.
Persona 5 Strikers, SMT 3 and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax are not on modern Xbox consoles
Hack and slash from 2021 Persona 5 attackersthe year 2020 Shin Megami Tensei 3 HD Remaster and fighting game from 2013 Persona 4 Arena Ultimax – which were re-released in 2022 – are three Atlus titles that also need Xbox ports. As for modern platforms, these games are only available on PlayStation, Switch and PC. Missing version for Xbox One or Xbox Series X/S Persona 4 Arena Ultimax is especially disappointing considering the game was originally released on the Xbox 360 back in the day and its predecessor, Persona 4 Arenais backwards compatible on modern Xbox devices.
Soul Hackers 2 isn't on Switch, while Etrian Odyssey Origins Collection isn't on PS5 or Xbox
While Atlus has mostly neglected Xbox and PC with some of its modern releases, it has also left out PlayStation and Nintendo. Soul hackers 2for example, launched on everything but the Switch in 2022, despite the fact that it didn't seem too graphically demanding for Nintendo's hybrid system. Then there it is Etrian Odyssey Origins Collectionwhich was released exclusively on Nintendo Switch and Windows in June 2023. It's the only Atlus game in the last two years that hasn't been released on all current-gen consoles, so it would be great to see a compilation on PlayStation 5 and once Xbox Series X/S.
