In 2020, The Roads of Avalon was introduced for solo players and groups of up to twenty players to enjoy a risky but rewarding late game area for every type of player. This guide will show you how to get there, what you can find and give you tips.
What are the roads of Avalon?
The Roads of Avalon are a separate area from the rest of the world of Albion, existing in Outlands Center — which is the second and larger continent with only black zones.
Like Outlands, also Roads of Avalon they only have black zones. When you die players, you lose everything you had on your person.
Each Avalonian area has a specific use and way to get to them constantly changing. No area is always in one place and no area can always be accessed in the same way.
How to get on the roads of Avalon
Throughout the world of Albion you can find the Avalonian Portals. These will take you directly to Avalon and can be found in any area above level 4 both in the Royal Continent and the Outlands.
Each portal has a set timer for when it disappears, and set the amount of fees can be used by players. Once the player enters the portal, one charge is consumedand each charge recharges after five minutes.
They exist three types of portals:
- Blue portals – The most common, with seven charges
- Yellow portals – Less common, with twenty charges
- Unstable portals – found only in Brecilien and the Mists. That Brecilien will take you to a random Avalon road, while the Mist Portals will take you to a random area on the continents.
Area level which has an Avalonian portal dictates the level of the road you're about to enter, so T4 zones will lead to T4 Roads of Avalon.
How to decrypt portals in Avalon
Once you are in Avalon, you can find other portals leading to new areas. They can either lead back to the continentsor until another way from Avalon.
Portals have stages with three scrolling circles. These circles show what awaits on the other side of the portal, and you can decipher them with the Avalon Codex:
The outer circle determines the type of area you will visit. Starting with the hollow circle symbol in a clockwise direction, the symbols translate as follows.

What can you find in Avalon?
Avalon is the best place to find loot for small and large groups and solo players will enjoy it the best way to get resources. Both sides can enjoy all the rewards and there is content for every type of player. Avalon also has some of the best Battle Glory rewards in the entire game.
What loot awaits in Avalon
At Avalon you can hope to find most of the activities you can find regular black zonesincluding Corrupted, Solo and Group Dungeon and world events such as Crystal Spiderlings and Small and Medium Treasure Chests.
There are some Exclusive Avalon content however, one can find, for example:
- Chestslocked behind camps that need to be cleared.
- Avalon raidsmeant for large groups with millions of silver as rewards.
Avalonian Raids require you to find special portals associated with themand then map out the path you took to get there so you can signal your guild to join the fun.
On the other side, the chests will almost surface every road you visitand have quests associated with them.
How to find and clear chest camps
The chests that are locked behind the camps are main content in Avalon for most players. They require clearing campskilling most of the mobs in the area.
You don't have to hunt until the last one because the chest will open when enough mobs are killed.
Every large chest icon you see on the minimap or local map has a mob camp around it. Chest color meaning the difficulty and target audience of the camp – a they go as follows:
- Green chests are intended for solo/duo players
- Blue chests are intended for small groups of up to five players
- Yellow chests are intended for large groups of up to twenty players
These camps are toughtherefore we recommend always having min some healing abilities which will help you clean them.
They have a rarity system, from common to legendary, and the rarity of the chest is the same for the entire camp clearing party.
The quality of the loot you get depends mainly on the level of the zone you are enteringand a quick way to find out if you haven't read portal rings is check the level of all mobs these are not crowdsourced. They will always be at the same level as the zone.
What resources await in Avalon?
In addition to loot, Avalon offers the best place to gather resources. All five types of resources can be found here and range from level 4 to level 8, depending on the level of the road you are on.
The reason Avalon is the best is because special crowd resources which may appear here; Ancient elementals and Aspects.
While regular resource nodes and resource mobs only have five resources available, old mobs do exponentially more resources depending on the level – up to several hundred at lower levels. The old crowds are much harder to killhowever, so you might need either a strong build or a duo to heal you.
There are also very rare mobs of The Aspect resources. These are boss enemieswhich require a small group beat, or at least a very strong duo teamand they have even more resources than the old mobs.
Enchanted resources can also appear in Avalon, but are a bit rarer than in the open world.
