I'm a big fan of both Overwatch and Marvel, and so when Marvel Rivals was announced, I couldn't wait to play it for myself. A hero shooter where the entire roster is made up of established heroes from one of the world's leading comic book companies is genius on paper, but there was always the chance that the final product wouldn't live up to expectations. Many of these doubts were dispelled after spending a lot of time with them Marvel RivalsA beta test this summer and the full version have now allayed most lingering concerns.
Marvel Rivals is an unashamed free-to-play hero shooter Overwatch inspiration. At launch, it features three game modes – Convoy, Dominance and Convergence – which means Overwatch 2's Payload, Control and Hybrid modes. The heroes on his roster also have some abilities that seem straight out of a Blizzard game, like Scarlet Witch's Ultimate, which is basically a D.Va Bomb, and Star-Lord's Blaster Barrage ability, which is pretty much the same as Reaper's Death. Blossom Ult. There are some that can be off-putting Marvel Rivals copying Overwatch's homework, and that's a valid concern, but what it lacks in originality it makes up for in sheer fun factor.
Simply put, Marvel Rivals is the explosion, and how long Overwatch The similarity to Blizzard's game makes it much easier to get into NetEase's new release. Yes, many abilities and ideas Marvel Rivals they are derivative, but that doesn't stop them from being fun and engaging. And that doesn't mean Marvel Rivals he has no ideas of his own.
Marvel Rivals' destructible environments change the game
Marvel RivalsFor example, the use of destructible environments adds another layer of excitement to chaotic and action-packed matches. Players can use their abilities to decimate structures on the map, potentially destroying a building that a sniper was using as a vantage point, or tearing down a wall that enemies may have been using for cover. There are certainly strategic moves that players can make Marvel Rivals' destructible environments, but their real value comes from the wild, unexpected chill moments they create. There's nothing like unleashing your powers in the heat of battle and not only wiping out the enemy team, but taking down an entire rock wall, leaving you and your teammates in a pile of rubble.
Destructible environments are not the only way Marvel Rivals protrudes from Overwatch. Utilizing the team building abilities in the game encourages players to choose their characters in a way that complements their teammates. For example, if someone on the team chose The Punisher, it would make sense for someone else to choose Rocket Raccoon, as they can lay down a gadget that allows the Punisher to fire without having to reload. Rocket can also ride on Groot's shoulders, as can Jeff the Land Shark, whose projectiles can gain an ice boost if Luna Snow is on the same team.
One of Marvel RivalsThe funniest teamwork powers come courtesy of Wolverine and the Hulk. The Hulk can pick up Wolverine and throw him at enemies, which may not always result in a kill, but can cause a wild distraction that leaves the enemy team vulnerable to follow-up attacks. Some experienced players have even used this Fastball combo to knock flying enemies out of the sky. There are many creative ways players can use the game's various abilities Marvel Rivals list, and as the list grows, so will the combo options.
There were some complaints about it Marvel RivalsTeams are overpowered and there may be some truth to that. There were also complaints about certain abilities, with some fans unhappy with Jeff's Land Shark's Ultimate, which allows him to swallow an entire team and drop them off a cliff to easily wipe out the team. Marvel Rivals it's clearly not a balanced game, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Ridiculous abilities open the door to countless hilarious moments that are great for making memories with friends, and honestly, I'd rather they stay in the game. Some balance changes might be healthy for the game's competitive scene, but NetEase will have to be careful not to lose the fun. Marvel Rivals.

No, Marvel Rivals it's not balanced, but that doesn't hurt the game. However, it has several other problems; one that will likely never be truly resolved, and one that will eventually be fixed once new content is released for the heroic shooter. What is eventually resolved, thankfully, is the lack of maps. Marvel Rivals it only has eight maps for its main game modes at launch, which makes it feel a bit repetitive before long. It doesn't help that some of the maps take place in the same general area, with two set in Yggsgard, two in Tokyo 2099, and two in the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda.
Which will probably never be fixed Marvel Rivals'unfavorable development. Putting the coolest skins in the store and basically requiring players to pay real money to get anything is free for a game like this and makes perfect financial sense. However, I think some system that would allow this Marvel Rivals If players unlock skins more often in the game, they can do wonders. As problematic as they were, the original Overwatch she achieved this with her loot boxes. Rules and regulations around the world mean that there is virtually no chance for a similar system Marvel Rivalsbut it would make leveling up a lot more exciting, while now it seems insignificant other than unlocking a ranked game at level 10.
The Marvel Rivals The Battle Pass progression isn't ideal either. Instead of the traditional Battle Pass, in which players level up, Marvel Rivals awards money from completing tasks that players use to choose specific rewards on the track. Some may like this approach, but I think it makes unlocking things less exciting. This system could feel better once you have multiple Battle Passes to choose from, e.g Marvel Rivals Battle Passes won't expire, but that remains to be seen.
Marvel Rivals features 6v6 battles with no role queue. The lack of role queue made the occasional match frustrating, but it hasn't been a huge problem for me so far.
Minor gripes aside, my time Marvel Rivals otherwise he was great. Matchmaking is lightning fast and makes it easy to get into “one more game” and the level of polish was impressive. Marvel RivalsA deep roster of 33 characters keeps battles fresh and exciting, with enough variety that I don't know if I'll ever get bored, especially with new characters and maps arriving at a regular pace.
Marvel Rivals feels like the first serious contender Overwatchcrown; it's a game I see as part of my multiplayer rotation indefinitely. And the thing is, Marvel Rivals at launch it is only the tip of the iceberg. There are almost endless possibilities for new layouts and maps in the coming years. Some of them escaped Marvel Rivals the characters have me excited for the future of the game and I can't wait to see how it develops.
