Kyora an Early Access release on Steam was announced, with a reveal trailer shown at The Game Awards 2024. Although Pugstorm largely focused on Guardian of the corewith updates planned for 2025, it seems the Swedish studio has proven it's capable of tackling another project in the meantime. Kyora is set to expand on many of the ideas that made its developer's last release so popular.
Pugstorm is a developer that has become particularly well known Guardian of the corea game with dynamically lit 2D pixel graphics, focused on survival and crafting in an open world. Although Guardian of the core is in Early Access on Steam since 2022, the game saw a full release this year. Some players are considering Guardian of the core to be one of the best co-op games of 2024, comparable to titles like Stardew Valley and Terrariums. As part of The Game Awards 2024 full reveal,Guardian of the core announced developer Pugstorm and publisher Chucklefish Kyoracoming to Steam Early Access. The minute-long trailer reveals the crafting-focused survival game, which is set to support up to eight players in online co-op. As the shot moves lower, KyroraMining, crafting, exploration, and combat features are all teased, so it's clear that there seems to be a world of depth waiting for players in the game.

Kyora It seems to take a lot of inspiration from popular titles like Terrariums and Noitaoffering a malleable environment that allows for pixel-by-pixel terraforming in a procedurally generated open world. Players will be able to create a variety of objects, from more basic structures such as bridges and bases, to objects steeped in fantasy, including wands that facilitate matter manipulation. With items like these, players will be able to more easily fight bosses known as Heralds and upgrade their toolkits, finding more work to do.
Players are encouraged to explore as much as possible with friends to combine skills and discover item synergies, making it easier to survive in an increasingly hostile world. Kyorawhich appears to incentivize riskier play with higher rewards. As people find more of the world, they will face more threats, and the different biomes available will offer new solutions to the obstacles players must face. Although no release date has been set KyoraPugstorm and Chucklefish note that the title will drop in the “near future”.
