Restoring your body in NieR: Automata

When you respawn after death, your first and only goal should be to restore your body. AND a small blue body icon will appear on the map marking your body position and can be selected to place a tracker in its place. When you approach your body, just interacting with it will be enough to get all of your plug-in chips back, but you'll also have two options for what to do with your body:

Repair

You won't get XP back, but your old body will become an AI companion that will haunt you until you die.

Load

You will regain lost XP gained before your death from a previous save.

Whichever option you choose, you'll also be able to equip your old plug-in chips exactly as they were, overwriting your current chip settings. You can also choose not to do this and any tokens you get will simply be placed back into your inventory.
