Harada was part of the team that was brought in Tekken to life from its inception, though not always in the same role. Tekken 8 development continues with Harada on board
While fans were concerned at first, it wouldn't make much sense for Harada to leave the team at this point. Tekken 8 still receiving fresh content. The game just released patch 1.11 a few days before this disturbing development, and he also added Final Fantasy 16's Clive it Tekken 8 list of fighters recently. Tekken 8 is already teasing and laying the groundwork for Season 2 to arrive in Spring 2025. While future updates to the title have likely already been planned, it would be surprising to see him leave while Tekken the game is still getting content.
With that said, Harada may still be leaving the series in the relatively near future. Harada previously talked about his future with the series, noting that he might only have one Tekken in him, due to his increasing age and “how it works in Japan and development.” It is worth noting that there was almost a decade between releases Tekken 7 and Tekken 8so if the next entry's development cycle is similar, players could still see Harada in the lead role Tekken 9 sometime in the 1930s. In any case, players don't need to worry about him leaving at this point.
