Marvel Snap is offering compensatory rewards for the period of unavailability in the United States due to a brief outage earlier this month. While the rewards package it offers Marvel Snap will be available to players worldwide, players in the United States will have access to extra rewards.
Nuverse, the publisher of Marvel's PC and mobile fight cards, is owned by ByteDance, a Chinese company that also owns the video-based social media platform TikTok, which has become central to US politics over the past few months. In the spring of 2024, the US Congress passed the Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, which named ByteDance as one of the listed adversaries. January 19 ban on Marvel Snap caused the game to become unavailable to all players in the United States.

What to expect from Marvel Snap in 2025
Marvel Snap is set to get off to a strong start in 2025, and developers have teased potential updates that would have major impacts on the community.
However, the action against ByteDance has been temporarily suspended and since last week Marvel Snap returned to the US market. In a recent article on Twitter, developer Second Dinner expressed the need to fix the timed rewards, content, and missions that were disrupted by the outage. This culminates in all US-based players who log in within 30 days of the blackout starting date receiving one of two different US blackout packages depending on whether their collection level exceeds 500. Rewards for players over 500 include two Spotlight Keys, 4,150 Credits, 6,200 Collector Tokens, five Gold Conquest Tickets, three Tickets to infinite conquest, 4000 conquest Medals and three cosmic gold borders. Players under 500 will receive six Mystery Series 3 cards, 7150 credits, and three borders of Cosmic Gold. Both versions of this pack also include 1000 gold, a Mystery Variant, six Premium Mystery Variants, a Cosmic Red Border, and 155 x5 Random Boosters.
