Shattered Descent, the third biome in Sarosfeatures quite an aggressive beast as its boss. Rhabdom might remind you of Aphex in the first biome who likes to jump around the arena. However, this boss has more tools up his sleeve.
The good thing is that Rhabdom only has one health bar, so it can be a bit easier, or at least faster, than the rest of the boss fights so far. On the other hand, this creature loves violence. In this guide, we'll go over everything you need to know about Rhabdom and tips on how to beat the boss in Saros.
How to beat Rhabdom
Once you enter the arena, you'll see Rhabdom enter by himself. You will have a few seconds before the boss actually starts moving, so first you should use your grapple to reach the higher platforms on the right and left side to collect the Aether there.
Four Aethers will be available if you need them. If you're already at full health, you can leave them when you take damage.
One of Rhabdom's first attacks may be creating dozens of yellow projectiles and rings on the ground. You should shoot the boss from one of the higher platforms as this happens and keep that in mind projectiles will fly up later. Luckily, they aren't hints, so you'll be fine if you stay on the platforms.
After this move, the creature could spit out a group of (now yes) blue homing projectiles. You should take advantage of this and absorb every single projectile with your shield. This way you'll have your Power Weapon ready to deal chunks of damage.
Once you take out more than half of Rhabdom's health bar, the blue homing projectiles will turn yellow. You can still absorb them if you have certain Armor Matrix upgrades, but if not, just run through them.
The move that Rhabdom will repeat most of the time is a series of jumps to your position, exploding with Nova Projectiles (the red ones) every time the boss touches the ground. You can't block or pass Nova Projectiles, so be as far away as you can of Rhabdom when it starts jumping.
The boss jumps three times in a row, so he can get to you pretty quickly. However, there is a little strategy you can play here: be close to the clamping points. When you use them, you are invulnerable for a few secondsand you'll also get away from danger faster.
During the other moves I shot the Rhabdom as much as I could and when the jumps started I started moving between the grapples, one at a time. Remember that the triangle icon should be below the point to use it.
Your recently unlocked Overdrive will give you a big hand in this fight, so use it as soon as possible. This will slow down time so you don't have to worry about missing your shot.
The last move from the Rhabdom repertoire is a series of yellow projectiles in straight lines going forward. The boss fires quite a few of them in rapid succession and you can either dash to the sides or pass them. Since they are wide, I would go through every line just to be sure.
And that's pretty much it. When Rhabdom's health is below half, he can start adding more projectiles to his movesbut other than the one we mentioned for homing projectiles, there are no significant variations.
Unlock a second chance in your Armor Matrix skill tree to die once and respawn during battle.

Saros: How long does it take to hit?
If you were hoping that Saros would be longer than Returnal, then you're in luck. It is! But be prepared for twice as many deaths.
