After several weeks of fan complaints, The Pokemon Company releases a statement regarding the flaws of the Prismatic Evolutions Pokemon TCG expansion.
In the summer, The Pokemon Company will introduce a new line Pokemon TCG products, according to a recent report from PokeBeach. The upcoming set is rumored to be based on the Black Bolt and White Flare, Generation 5 sets coming to Japan on June 6th. An English version of the same product line is said to be scheduled for release on July 18. White Flare and Black Bolt are suspected references to Gen 5 legends Reshiram and Zekrom. Both terms were originally trademarked by The Pokemon Company in September 2024.

Similar to Prismatic Evolutions, the upcoming series will be offered as a “special set”, meaning that its booster packs will not be sold individually, but will be available exclusively as a part Pokemon TCG Elite trainer boxes, mini cans and similar packages. PokeBeach reports that the first products from the upcoming line will be two ETBs, likely themed around Zekrom and Reshiram.
Two Booster Bundles are also said to be coming as part of the new set on August 22nd. They are likely to contain a variety of cards, not least because most Pokemon TCG sets usually stick to a single Booster Bundle, meaning this split is unlikely to be purely visual. Between the alleged packs and rumored ETBs, The Pokemon Company will reportedly release two collections of Tech Sticker and Illustration Rare Boxes on August 1st.

The next Pokémon TCG set will reportedly be released on the 30th
In December 2024, The Pokemon Company revealed a common path Pokemon TCG set, which is scheduled to launch on March 28. PokeBeach now states that the first post-Journey Together set will be released on May 30th. This expansion is said to contain cards of four Pokemon TCG boxes that will debut in Japan for the first time: Heat Wave Arena, The Glory of Team Rocket, Marnie's Morpeko and Grimmsnarl ex and Steven's Beldum and Metagross ex. All four will mark the return of the so-called Owner's Pokémon variants, which have now been renamed Trainer's Pokémon. Marnie and Steven's decks will reportedly contain one Illustration Rare card each.
