Despite some really weird reaction to God of War Laufey after its initial reveal – even with Domino's Pizza cheap-shooting the game – the vast majority of players seem to be excited about Faye's story. Faye's ability to juggle enemies in the air and wield magic should make combat consistently fun, touted as an even better fighter than Kratos himself in the Norse games. Aside from the gameplay itself, the new Everywhen setting, which is an afterlife for all the gods from all the different mythologies, should allow for a lot of interesting scenery and lore. It could also be home to a lot of links and is one of them Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 looks like a given.
On the surface, there's nothing connecting the Santa Monica action franchise to the turn-based RPG Sandfall; the worlds of the series play by very different rules and Clair Obscuro not exclusive to PlayStation. Of course, that doesn't mean Santa Monica can't just reference one of the best games released in the last decade. God of War Laufey if he wants to do it — after all, how many games have honors Dark souls despite offering gameplay that is completely different from the soul-like? Still, it rules out a legacy in a collectible category full of PlayStations like it Ragnarokpoems. Fortunately, there's a less obvious connection between the two games that increases the chances of a nod Expedition 33 in the upcoming interquel Faye: Charlie Cox's role as Gustavo.

Even Domino's Pizza throws shade at God of War Laufey
The strange reaction to God of War Laufey's new protagonist reaches new heights as he criticizes the pizza company most of all.
Daredevil gives Deborah Ann Woll and Charlie Cox an unbreakable bond
While Charlie Cox himself evidently downplayed his contributions Clair Obscur: Expedition 33that doesn't change how great he was at playing Gustav and how he helped elevate the character to a true fan favorite. For gamers, this is considered his best role, although fans of the Marvel universe and quality television will likely see another character in this position: Matt Murdock, AKA Daredevil. Cox was and still is the perfect fit for The Man Without Fear, stealing every scene he's in, whether he's portraying Matt's smooth lawyer side or the violent vigilante protecting Hell's Kitchen. On both Netflixes Daredevil and the revival of Disney+ Born againhe is joined by a number of supporting characters, one of whom is Karen Page.

While Karen received flak in the early seasons for taking up too much screen time from the show's titular hero, her character improved drastically over time and shined as brightly as many other characters from Season 3 onward. Karen has been a romantic interest for Matt (not to mention her interesting dynamic with Jon Bernthal's Punisher), so Marvel fans have seen a lot of her over the past decade. She's become a recognizable character in her own right, gaining fans thanks in part to Deborah Ann Woll's top-notch acting: AKA, Faye. Deborah Ann Woll and Charlie Cox have been regulars for years on Daredevil, the critically acclaimed series currently in its sixth season. And now they're both main characters in massive video games, a connection Santa Monica could lean on for a fun little Easter egg.
Charlie Cox is so attached to the role of Daredevil and has spent so much time playing a blind lawyer that he has previously mentioned fumbling auditions because he forgets to use his eyes.
God of War's Clair Obscur crossover doesn't have to be big to be fun
To be clear, no one is saying that Gustave himself has to pop up in Everywhen. Instead, Clair Obscuro the tribute could come in a much more subtle way. Maybe Charlie Cox plays a role in that God of War Laufey to share a small scene with his longtime co-star from her latest project. The character could be a tinkerer, have a name similar to Gustave, or be missing an arm, creating some parallel with Cox's previous role in the game. He might even look like the devil, making the connection glaringly obvious, and the moment would no doubt serve as a favorite Easter egg for anyone familiar with Faye's career as an actor.
Or if Charlie Cox can't find the time to record a cameo God of War Laufeythen there are other ways to tip your hat to Gustavo. Maybe Faye or one of her allies could say one of his iconic lines – “for those who come after” is an obvious choice, although a cube character Phranque saying he's “preparing his usefulness for tomorrow” would also do. A book reminiscent of Gustav's diary tucked away somewhere in the world could also work; maybe there's a quote scrawled on the page, or even the number 33. Ultimately, it doesn't matter how the link happens, it would just be awesome if it did. Having two main characters from the same beloved TV show star in some gigantic video games (which also happen to be released in such close proximity to each other) is a rare occurrence, and it makes sense to honor it in some way.
