No RPG is truly complete without some sort of class archetype mechanic Dragon Age: The Veilguard is no exception. The game only features the traditional warrior-wizard-rogue triumvirate of classes, but each also has three different specializations that delve a little deeper into certain themes and playstyles.
When increasing stats in Dragon Age: The Veilguard is a surefire way to get stronger, choosing the right class with the right specialization should be the first thing players care about. Once you've chosen the class you want to play, there's no going back, so if you're not sure which one to choose, here's a quick guide covering all three playable classes and the subclasses you can spec yourself into.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard – Spirits Of The Dalish Walkthrough (Memories Location)
Rook must find all five reminders to complete the Spirits of the Dalish side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
In terms of pure performance, all classes are fairly well balanced. Which class you choose is mostly down to personal preference, but for those looking for ease of use, we've specified the best class specializations at the bottom of each section.
Warrior
Up close and very personal
First, we have a traditional fighter class that focuses mainly on melee combat. Warriors behave as usual front tank with sword and board as well as a slow but devastating two-handed weapon wielder. Players can switch between the two weapon types with the press of a button and can also throw a shield, giving them tons of flexibility. Warriors use Rage to cast skills – these are gained by being hit or hit and decay over time when not in combat.
Warriors may not have the same DPS potential as other classes, but they have excellent defensive abilities and various crowd control abilities that make the battlefield a little less chaotic, perfect for higher difficulty settings. They can also advise massive Stagger damagewhich opens up the possibility of Takedowns for enemies. If you like stunning huge crowds with stomping the ground or falling kicking Darkspawn off a cliff, this class is for you.

Master |
Perfect block, Burn |
Champions sacrifice enemies with their abilities and can also parry unblockable attacks. Great for players who prefer defensive playstyles with a focus on team synergy. |
Murderer |
Stagger, charged attack, smash ability |
Slayers focus on dealing extreme amounts of Staggers along with heavy bursts of damage from charged attacks. Slow but satisfying to use. |
Mower |
Necrotic Damage, Shield Throw, Health Cost, Lifesteal, Missile Ability |
Reapers can heal by dealing necrotic damage and applying the Siphoned status to enemies. They also have several passives that improve shield throw and projectile abilities. |
Mower is probably the easiest specialization to use as it gives players additional ways to heal themselves. Best used in conjunction with a full Shield Toss build using skills from the Mourn Watcher skill pool.

Rogue
Fast and stylish
Rogues emphasize speed over strength, rather shoot down enemies with thousands of cutsunlike warriors who tend to deal a lot of damage in as few hits as possible. In combat they use a double blade and a bow and use a source called Momentumwhich are earned by landing hits. Players can lose a large portion (if not all) of their Momentum if hit, making this class a much riskier use.
Because Rogues rely on one thing ranged attacks or hit-and-run tacticsyou change your companions Dragon Age: The Veilguard should be something you should always keep in mind. It might be better to replace someone with a frontline fighter like Davrin to create openings for the team.

Duelist |
Melee, Necrotic Damage, Survival, Adrenaline |
Duelists rely on speed and aggression to win. They can lower enemy defense, deal damage over time, boost their personal DPS, and tank more hits than usual. |
Guardian of the Veil |
Ranged, Bow, Electric Damage, Charged Shots |
Veil Rangers are archers with greatly improved bow abilities. They have passives that provide powerful buffs to charged shots, as well as electricity skills that can shock targets. |
Saboteur |
Ranged, Bow, Traps, Turret, Necrosis Damage, Explosion, Tool Abilities |
Saboteurs use various gadgets and some new tricks to disrupt the enemy and boost the team. They also have passives that improve their bows, but not to the same extent as the Guardians of the Veil. |
Guardian of the Veil is the best specialization for wanderers looking for comfort without sacrificing strength. Invest enough points in skills to improve your ranged attacks and you're done. Duelist is also pretty good, but much more dependent on player skill.

Mage
Very stunning
Mages are glass cannons capable of dealing serious damage to anything and everything and manipulating mana to power their spells and weapons. They can control fire, electricity, cold and necrosis to utter battlefield devastation, but such power comes at the cost of personal survival. Like warriors, mages have two main weapons: Staff, Orb, and Dagger, and their playstyles are completely different.
Sticks they are slow but they hit hard and can reach a long distance. They can be charged with Mana unleash powerful heavy attacks. This weapon is more for players who want to play as a traditional backline mage. Meanwhile, Orb and Dagger makes it possible quick melee attacks. Light attacks are increasing A mysterious bomb stacks and heavy attacks detonate them to cause explosions.

Spellblade it's also great if you want a faster playstyle with Orb and Dagger, but if you can't choose which weapon to use, try Death Caller.
