A disturbing handwritten note which could provide crucial evidence has come to light after a man and woman were found dead in a suspected murder-suicide.
Police discovered the bodies of separated couple Mark, 64, and his wife Lesley Stillman, 67, at a home on Golf Links Drive in Carramar, 30km from Perth’s CBD, at about 10.40am on Sunday.
Police were called to conduct a welfare check at the time and have since confirmed there was no “third-party involvement” in the pair’s deaths.
Now, it’s been revealed a family member has discovered a note which is believed to have been written and left by Mr Stillman before his death, The West Australian reports.
The note reportedly said words to the effect of: “Won’t get justice, will die with her”.
It is not known if the note contained any other information.
“Homicide squad detectives have determined there is no third party involved in this tragic incident and WA Police will prepare a report for the coroner,” police told news.com.au.
Police earlier assured the community “there are no concerns for the general public’s safety”.
One of the bodies was reportedly discovered inside the garage.
According to The West Australian the pair, who had four children and were originally from the UK, were married but had separated several years ago; though they were both still living in the same home.
It’s believed Mr Stillman’s daughter had phoned police following concerns for his welfare.
A neighbour told the publication his wife had spoken with Ms Stillman the day before she was found dead.
“She was bouncy, she was going off to Pilates with her friends and that’s the last we saw them,” they said.
Ms Stillman was a volunteer with Guide Dogs WA and aged care provider Amana Living.
She had recently returned from a holiday in Asia, having travelled to Cambodia and Thailand in March.
