The Parramatta Eels have been torn to shreds after their horror outing on Friday night.

Going up against the Dolphins in Darwin, the Eels barely put the gloves up as their rivals ran riot at TIO Stadium.

After taking the lead in the opening half an hour, it became one-way traffic as the Eels defensive line looked more like a slice of Swiss cheese.

With the opening two tries of the game to their name, the Eels simply stopped as the Dolphins flipped the script and scored nine unanswered to run away with it.

Dylan Brown scored a consolation try for the Eels to end the night, but the damage was long done as the Dolphins secured the 44-16 victory.

Fans watching on were quick to torch the Eels over their horrific display which saw them outscored 40-8 after halftime.

NRL’s The Mole wrote: “Parra fans – you have to admit – this is pretty pathetic against a Phins team missing four BIG names. Parra should seriously just walk off… haven’t seen a team care so little for many years.”

Another user wrote: “Parra I ain’t gonna lie, that was f***ing embarrassing.”

The Eels shot out to an 8-0 lead 26 minutes into the game with Shaun Lane and Will Penisini scoring after a scrappy start from both sides in hot and humid conditions

The Dolphins got on the board before the break through Jack Bostock, who crossed off a harbour bridge pass from 20-year-old playmaker Isaiya Katoa.

And that was just the beginning as the Dolphins, who were without a stack of star players including star fullback Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow, ran in eight more tries.

Katoa had a hand in two more and jeremy Marshall-King caused havoc out of dummy-half, but it was rookie Trai Fuller — who was in just his second NRL game — that was the standout.

Bostock finished with a hat-trick after scoring two more tries in five minutes in the second half, while Tesi Niu and Max Plath bagged a double.

The Eels were left battered and bruised after what Fox League analyst Michael Ennis said was a “demoralising loss.” Daejarn Asi was ruled out of the game due to a head knock, while Clint Gutherson pushed through after copping a knock to his shin.
