Paramedics who responded to the awful scenes at Westfield Bondi Junction last week were treated to pizza from Crust Clovelly by a stranger who footed the bill.
A NSW Ambulance Inspector went to the pizza store last Saturday night to place an order to feed the paramedics who had responded to the tragic scenes.
A customer who was at the store when the order was placed immediately stepped in to pay the $250 bill.
Inspired by the customer’s generosity, Crust Clovelly owner Yashi Soni then sent $200 worth of pizza to officers at the Waverly Police Station.
Mr Soni told 7News it was a satisfying gesture for them to feel like they could contribute because they were very shocked by what unfolded that day.
Paramedics, police and bystanders helped save the lives of many people who had been stabbed by Joel Cauchi, 40, at the shopping centre and were rushed to hospital.
Six people were killed including a security guard Faraz Tahir who worked at the Westfield centre.
A NSW Ambulance Inspector said on social media, “To the young guy that covered our tab, I have to say a massive thank you.
“Having full bellies made sitting down afterwards and having some very difficult conversations much easier.”
