Chris Pine unrecognisable with long hair and beard on red carpet

A Hollywood heart-throb looked unrecognisable as he walked the red carpet for a new movie yesterday.

The star, 43, took onlookers by surprise with long hair and a beard while attending the Los Angeles premiere of Poolman at Vista Theatre.

Celebrating his directorial debut, US actor Chris Pine opted for a rather unconventional getup while posing for photographers.

Dressed in character as the film’s protagonist Darren Barrenman, Pine, 43, arrived in the pool-cleaning company van, ‘Awesome Aquatics’.

His outfit consisted of a tan blazer featuring a pink carnation corsage, layered above an ‘I Love LA’ T-shirt.

He also wore tight blue corduroy shorts and ankle-high white socks, along with brown hiking boots.

The Primetime Emmy nominee completed his ensemble with orange sunglasses and a shaggy blonde hairdo.

Set for release on May 10, Poolman follows Darren whose quest to improve his hometown of Los Angeles irritates city councilman Steven Tornkowsky.

Pine shot to fame in 2003 when he starred in an episode of popular medical drama ER – and has starred in many films since.

These include the likes of Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Just My Luck, Blind Dating and Smokin’ Aces.

He became James T Kirk in the Star Trek franchise in 2009, before going on to play Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

During this time, the Hollywood hunk enjoyed his fair share of A-lister romances with actresses and models.

Pine has allegedly dated celebs from Zoe Kravitz to Olivia Munn, before he split from his most recent girlfriend Annabelle Wallis in March 2022.

The Peaky Blinders actress parted ways with Pine, as a source told Entertainment Tonight at the time that the pair “have broken up and haven’t been together for a few months”.

Pine and Wallis, 37 – who dated Coldplay frontman Chris Martin between 2014 and 2016 – were spotted linking arms in London when Pine was filming Wonder Woman 1984 in the summer of 2018.
