SZA was forced to run offstage last night in fear of being subjected to a massive $250,000 fine.

The singer, whose real name is Solána Imani Rowe, told a screaming crowd at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday that she had to go because otherwise she was going to face a fine for staying past 11pm.

“OK they’re gonna fine me! I love you,” she yelled, before picking some of her fans to join her for a meet and greet backstage after the show. “I have to go, I have to go!”

Concert venues in Melbourne have an 11pm curfew to meet the noise pollution requirements of the Environment Protection Authority.

She the shouted into the microphone at arena staff, saying: “Just grab people from the side and give them free tickets for tomorrow! Love you!”

Her swift exit from the show came after she was forced to yell at some of her fans in the audience over their behaviour.

Footage of fans throwing items – which reportedly included shoes and cellphones – onto the stage was shared on social media.

The 34-year-old called out the crowd and suggested she was even prepared to walk off if the behaviour continued to get out of hand.

“I will leave,” she said while holding up an item that landed on stage. “Do not throw up any cell phones, I’m a person. That’s crazy.”

Fans rushed to comment on the videos being shared online, with many sharing their dismay.

“Concert etiquette has gone out the window. Should be ashamed of themselves,” one said. “You had one f***ing job Melbourne, now she won’t want to come back to Australia,” another added.

Another video, posted to social media showed SZA signing items which had been passed to the artist from fans via security guards had people referencing the correct way to get things to the singer.

“Literally so many people were throwing phones, headphones everything right at SZA she’s just a human being. People need to be more respectful”, one said.

“Good on yall for being respectful and not throwing s*** at her,” another commented.

Meanwhile, the Grammy winning star is set to play her third Melbourne show tonight at the same venue.
