Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou secretly split from partner Adam Rigby after eight years

Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou has reportedly split from her partner after eight years of dating.

The beloved actress is said to have secretly parted ways with Sydney businessman Adam Rigby at the end of last year, according to the Daily Telegraph. However, despite the break-up, the couple remain on good terms.

“Everything is amicable,” a source told the outlet. “They remain friends but decided to go their separate ways.”

Nicodemou, 46, and Rigby first met at a work event in 2016 and debuted their relationship at the Logie Awards two years later.

“It’s such a great night,” Ada told the magazine at the event. “And it’s always lovely to be able to share it with a partner. I love the Logies – it’s really special.”

And it turns out Rigby had no idea who she was when they met as he had never watched Home And Away, on which she has played the character of Leah for more than 20 years.

“It’s kind of cool though, right?’ she said at the time. “I liked that he had no idea about the show.”

In the years since, the actress has gushed about Rigby and how he was a great stepdad to her son Johnas, who she shares with her ex-husband Chrys Xipolitas.

“Adam and Johnas adore each other; he’s such a great stepdad and has really stepped up,” she also told TV Week.

“For a man to come into my world and love a child as if he were his own – and love me like I’ve never been loved before – is incredibly special.”

And Rigby has featured on her Instagram multiple times. Just last year, for her 45th birthday, she thanked him for making it a memorable occasion.

“Thanks so much babe for a beautiful birthday and amazing food, felt very spoiled and loved,” she wrote on Instagram, alongside a happy snap of the pair.

News of the split comes weeks after Nicodemou’s onscreen husband James Stewart split from his wife and former Home and Away co-star Sarah Roberts.

The couple were married in 2019 but secretly ended their five-year marriage and finalised their divorce by March this year.

“I just want to say that I am divorced,” Roberts, who left the soap in 2021, told Stellar magazine last month, adding that they kept the split secret because of the “stigma and shame” associated with divorce.

“What I’ve learnt from this journey of becoming a divorcee is that it’s so important to reach out to others who have experienced similar things and not hide in the shadows.

“I hid for a very long time. There were times when I didn’t feel like I could see the light or a way out of these big, complex emotions that I was feeling.

“But I hope that by just being honest today, I’ll free myself, and potentially free a lot of other people, to be able to speak their truth”.
