A couple charged with the murder and torture of a man allegedly found partially buried alive at a rural property north of Brisbane have been identified as an OnlyFans model and aspiring rapper.
Cooper Anthony William Bunney, 23, and his partner, Bella-Louise Rose Scheibel, 21, were initially charged with the attempted murder of Samuel Harry Wilcox following an alleged “prolonged” ordeal at a property at Mount Mee, in Queensland’s Moreton Bay region, last Friday.
The couple’s charges were upgraded to murder after Mr Wilcox, 23, died in hospital at the weekend.
Mr Bunney and Ms Scheibel are both facing charges of murder, common assault, deprivation of liberty, disabling in order to commit indictable offence, grievous bodily harm, observations or recordings in breach of privacy genital or anal region, torture, wounding and unlawful possession of weapons.
Ms Scheibel is also facing an additional charge of serious assault of a police officer by biting, spitting etc.
The couple have an active presence on social media, with Ms Scheibel posting a picture of the couple in February last year with the caption: “No matter what you’ll always be my number one, you make life so much more enjoyable. I love you always Cooper Bunney, never forget it.”
Ms Scheibel also has an OnlyFans account where she describes herself as a “new content creator”.
In her description she states: “I will do just about ANYTHING! Message me and you will receive.”
Mr Bunney, who calls himself an “artist” on his Instagram, has shared videos of his amateur raps to his followers, inviting them to listen to his “barz” in one of his stories.
Ms Scheibel was not able to apply for bail at Caboolture Magistrates Court on Tuesday due to the seriousness of the murder charge.
Under Queensland law, defendants charged with murder can only apply for bail in the Supreme Court.
Instead, the court was told the police were making an application for disease testing in relation to Ms Scheibel’s charge of seriously assaulting a police officer.
A smiling Ms Scheibel was asked if she consented to the application being made.
“Yes, I do,” she told magistrate Kurt Fowler.
Ms Scheibel will return to court on July 4.
During a brief mention, Mr Bunney’s matters were adjourned to the same date. Both remain in custody on remand.
He can be heard and seen rapping to the camera while smoking a cigarette and holding an iced coffee.
Detective Acting Inspector Joe Zitney on Sunday said police believed all three were known to each other and it was “apparent” this was not family violence related.
He said there was evidence to suggest the deceased man had been “in the vicinity” of Mount Mee since April 29.
“At this stage indications are the injuries sustained by the (alleged) victim occurred over a reasonably prolonged period of time but that will be determined by further investigation,” Inspector Zitney said.
Police spent the weekend combing the Mount Mee property – which is understood to have multiple dwellings – as well as a nearby dam.
Mr Bunney and Ms Scheibel had only resided at the property for anywhere between four to eight weeks, Inspector Zitney said.
