King Charles and Kate Middleton’s cancer struggles have ‘endeared’ the royal duo to the public

There’s been a surprising outcome of King Charles and Kate Middleton making their cancer battles public, according to an expert.

Both Charles and Kate shared their heartbreaking cancer diagnoses this year in announcements that shocked the world.

Kate’s announcement in particular made a huge impact on the public.

Prior to her brave admission, there was a social media furore that culminated in numerous false rumours hitting headlines.

Despite Charles’ and Kate’s personal struggles, a royal expert has claimed there’s a silver lining for the royal duo.

“This unfortunate health battle has not only brought the king and his daughter-in-law closer, but it’s also endeared them to millions of people around the world who have dealt with a scary cancer diagnosis themselves or that of a loved one,” Shannon Felton Spence, former British public affairs official, explained to Fox News.

“They made the right decision to be transparent about the diagnosis – it’s the first time in history a British monarch has done that,” Felton Spence shared.

“The king knows that this is an opportunity for him to connect with and serve as an advocate for men everywhere, and to really make a difference with early diagnosis rates.

“The Princess of Wales took more time to reveal the truth of her treatment, but she explained so poignantly that the decision had everything to do with preparing her young children.”

Felton Spence continued: “I think we can expect her to be a bigger presence in cancer advocacy when she is well enough.”

Buckingham Palace announced in February King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer after he underwent a corrective procedure for an enlarged prostate at the London Clinic, catapulting royal fans into hysteria.

The 75-year-old monarch has since stepped away from the public eye and royal engagements while undergoing cancer treatment.

Multiple sources told The Daily Beast this week that while the monarch is determined to beat cancer he is facing “declining health”.

“Everyone is staying optimistic, but he is really very unwell,” a person claiming to be an old friend of the royal family told the outlet.

“Of course, he is determined to beat it and they are throwing everything at it.”
