ARC Raiders The big Riven Tides update that launched on April 28 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC has seemingly broken the shooter's crossplay functionality for most players. After the release of update 1.26.0 for ARC Raiders this week, players quickly began reporting that the crossplay option was suddenly disabled and could not be turned back on. Embark has since responded to the issue and confirmed that a fix is in the works.
Embark has been releasing a steady stream of new content updates every month since the start of the new year, with the latest release being Riven Tides. The April 28th patch also marks the end ARC Raiders” official schedule for 2026, at least for now. Embark detailed four updates between January and April, but has yet to reveal what its plans are for the rest of the year. The good news, however, is that the studio has said it intends to support the shooter for a decade, meaning a new schedule for the rest of 2026 is likely to be released in the coming weeks.
ARC Raiders accidentally broke crossplay with the New Riven Tides update
Earlier this week, Embark Studios released the highly anticipated Riven Tides pro update ARC Raiders. Not only did it add a brand new map and a terrifying new ARC enemy, but it also seems to have inadvertently broken the game's crossplay feature. Shortly after the patch went live, players took to social media sites like Reddit to question why crossplay wasn't disabled in the game's settings and couldn't be turned back on. That means players can't match or match with their friends on other platforms, but Embark said it's aware of the issue and working on a fix.
In a message to the official ARC Raiders Discord, the community manager, said that Embark is currently investigating the crossplay issue after April 28 ARC Raiders patch. The studio said it will notify players when the issue is resolved. At the time of writing, more than 24 hours later, there have been no further updates on the matter. However, Embark has shared a temporary fix for the issue, telling players that they can fully reset their default settings to enable crossplay again. However, this in turn resets all other settings like controls and accessibility options, so anyone who doesn't want to go through the trouble of tweaking all their other settings again should wait for the official fix.
Crossplay issues aside, the recent update gave fans plenty of new content to try out, including a brand new map known as Riven Tides and a new map state, Beachcombing. The new smaller map condition allows players to search for buried treasure on the beaches of Riven Tides using the new metal detector item, but players will also want to be on high alert as the new ARC Turbine enemy is another deadly addition to the game.

Riven Tides also marks the opening of another expedition window in ARC Raiderswhich made several major changes this time. While in previous expeditions players stockpiled all of their best items and weapons to ensure they meet the stash/coin value requirement for all five skill points, Embark now combines the extra points with a new damage challenge. Players now have until Monday, May 11th to rack up a total of 100,000 damage if they want to receive an additional five skill points for the upcoming reset. FYI, that's the equivalent of destroying around 20 bastions.
