The Assassin's Creed the franchise finds itself in some troubled waters. According to recent reports, the past few years have not been as profitable as Ubisoft would have liked, and as a result Star Wars Outlaws underperforming, the developer/publisher has seemingly hit the panic button. Assassin's Creed Shadows has been delayed until next February, and there is currently no official word on previously announced games such as Assassin's Creed Hex, Assassin's Creed Infinityor Assassin's Creed Invictus.

According to a recent post on Twitter by a renowned Assassin's Creed leaker, j0nathan, first reported by Eurogamer's Vikki Blake, Assassin's Creed Invictus will have a Autumn Guys-inspired game structure. According to this leak Invictus will see 16 players compete in a series of elimination challenges. Some of these challenges reportedly include a team deathmatch, a free-for-all, and a parkour speed challenge where players go through checkpoints.
Winning the challenge will allow players to advance to the next round. As they progress through the tournament, players will gradually build a lineup that can be used in the final challenge, possibly gaining some upgrades to help them in the final battle. Invictus will apparently allow players to take control of a variety of avatars, all based on iconic ones Assassin's Creed characters. According to j0nathan, Ezio and Cesare Borgia are confirmed to be in the game as playable avatars.
