NEW YORK: A jersey belonging to American baseball legend Babe Ruth broke the world record for the most expensive sports item sold at auction on Thursday — and the sale isn't over yet. The highest bid for a New York Yankees jersey currently stands at $13.3 million including commission and fees. But the sale won't close until August 24, according to organizer Heritage Auctions, with experts estimating that the bid could reach as high as $30 million.
