Battlefield 6's portal mode has plenty of tools and features to help players unleash their creative side, and while a lot of the stuff you'll find are probably defunct XP farms, there are some great creations that improve the game as a whole. For example, there are plenty of custom maps to try out, and some have even managed to port classic Call of Duty maps to Battlefield 6 via the mod.
The more classic Call of Duty maps like Nuketown and Shipment were created before the game officially launched, but now that the game is here and blazing away, it seems that EA and DICE may have changed their minds when it comes to this kind of fun. Insider Gaming's first report seems like EA is shutting down the Call of Duty-inspired maps that were created in Portal.
Battlefield 6 players can be banned for re-creating Call of Duty maps on the portal
In an email picked up by Insider Gaming, it claims that one user reframed the map shipment as an “inappropriate reference” to other third-party products, essentially alluding to Call of Duty without actually saying the title of the series. It turned out that the name of the map was “First Shipment Test” and that the description read “2019 Shipment Release”, so it doesn't appear that there are any Call of Duty references other than the recreated map itself.
More worryingly, EA seems to be following this up by warning that the player in question could be “temporarily or permanently” banned for repeating the same offense in the future. It's kind of silly, especially when we've seen other map creators in games like Far Cry 5 regularly get recreations of other games from dedicated users.
We have no idea at this point if this is a Call of Duty-related issue or a crackdown on entertainment in general, but it definitely smacks of EA being afraid of getting caught in a stray lawsuit over maps from other games making it into Battlefield 6. However, if you're someone who recreated a Call of Duty map in-game, or even attempted to, you can get it deleted from EA, or you can delete it outright.
