Earlier today, Quantic Dream took to its official Twitter account to reveal the company's plans to cease production Chronicles of Wizardsciting the lack of spectators for the game as the main reason for this decision. The free-to-play multiplayer game from Quantic Dream launched to mixed reviews and managed to get only 888 players. At the time of writing, there are only 23 players in the game. The developer admitted that these numbers were simply not enough to keep the service project alive long-term and decided it would be better to focus elsewhere.

As for the layoffs, Quantic Dream was more vague about how many jobs will be lost with the game's cancellation. The official statement mentions an “internal reorganization,” often a code word meant to indicate upcoming layoffs. Chronicles of Wizards will be playable until June 19. Players who spent money during the game's early access period will be able to request a refund.
