Pokemon players can be a pretty impatient bunch, and honestly, I'm one of them. With the game's lack of voice acting, it can be pretty easy to grind past dialogue that you're not too invested in just to get a reward and be on your merry way. This is fine in almost any other Pokémon game except Legends: ZA, which has side quests that are a bit more detailed and unique than the rest of the series.
For example, throughout Lumiose City you will find a lot of NPCs who want you to bring them certain Pokémon who have very specific requirements, usually regarding their size. There are a few of them who want you to hand them the pokemon you found, and their intentions were pretty clear from the start, but a rather alarming number of fans seem to be accusing these poor NPCs of stealing their pokemon, some of which were all-important shinys.
Pokemon Legends: BEHIND NPCs stealing shiny Pokemon
One of those fans is Reddit user Gay_Pink_Dragon (incredible name by the way) who accidentally managed to give away his shiny Pumpkaboo without realizing that the quest giver would take it as part of the quest. In the post above, we can actually see the questing Taille standing proudly in front of a row of Pumpkaboo, one of whom is a dark purple, and at the same time next to a probably very dejected Gay_Pink_Dragon.
Surprisingly, they are not the only player who lost their Pokemon this way. In the comments of Gay_Pink_Dragon's post, you can find another named Unknown Ghost-0 sharing a picture of a shiny Gogoat they accidentally gave away as part of Side Quest 63, where you can find a Gogoat for a man to help him with his business. In fact, just last week a similar post on Reddit by a user named VillainWhale took issue with this guy stealing their Gogoat, though luckily for them it wasn't shiny.
Sure, you can accuse these poor NPCs of stealing Pokemon, but your argument certainly wouldn't hold up in court. Both NPCs make it pretty clear that they want to keep the Pokemon you find for them forever, so if you haven't completed these sidequests yet, read up on exactly what these people want from you. I think this proves once and for all that Pokemon games desperately need voice acting.
