Elfhelm is gone. The spirits have left the world. Griffith steals Casca to Falconia and Guts sinks to the deepest depths of despair. Crazy setting the stage for what can only be a terrifying ending. Crazy Volume 42 released last March and ended with the Kushan Empire invading Seahorse, as Guts' trauma from losing Casca to Griffith left him a shell of his former self once again – completely unable to lift a dragon slayer. More than a year later, Crazy Volume 43 will be released on October 27, 2026collecting chapters 374 to 382 of Kentaro Miura's masterful manga.
Pre-order Berserk Volume 43
Only one chapter is currently unpublished, Crazy Volume 43 will be the last volume of the manga for the next few years. Kouji Mori and Studio Gaga take their time adapting Kentaro Miura's notes into the rest Crazy manga. With the Guts at its lowest point and an Eclipse-level tragedy set to unfold in any chapter, the arc of the Eastern Exile series is shaping up to Crazythe darkest chapter of the past decade.
Guts Lets Go of All Hope in Berserk Volume 43
Crazy Volume 43 will be a disturbing read for many fans, especially those who have been following Guts' story for years (if not decades). After losing Casco in Volume 42, Guts fell into a deep depression – one that completely robbed him of all will to live. The Eastern Exile arc introduces the story to Kushan as it unfolds Crazy's world and the cast even more so as the Kushan Empire prepares for all-out war against Griffith and Falconia.
Chapters 374 to 382 are full of rich world building, intense action, and the most unpleasant character “development” for Guts yet. At least The Eclipse is certain that Guts will become the Black Swordsman at the start of the manga, but in the Eastern Exile arc, it really feels like the world is coming to an end – and the little fire Guts left behind brought him together.
