Black clover is a shonen story by Yuki Tabato that tells the story of Asto, a boy born without mana in a world full of magic. Black clover was once a very popular story, serialized in the same magazine that features stories like One Piece, Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisenand others, but due to repeated hiatuses stemming from the creator's health problems, there were many hiatuses that led to the story's huge success.
The Black Clover manga officially ends on August 4, 2026 with the release of volume #38. Immediately after, the anime is ready to sweep and take over the world. Black Clover Season 2 wraps up with an October 2026 release, and now we have a new key visual featuring the story's main trio in their final appearances in the latest installment of the franchise.
Black Clover reveals a brand new key visual for Season 2
Black Clover debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #15 on February 16, 2015. The story was created by Japanese mangaka Yuki Tabata, and although it had good success in the magazine, the serialization was moved to the seasonal magazine Jump GIGA on December 25, 2023, due to the inability to keep the author's weekly schedule. This meant that Black Clover would only release a few chapters per year, and this slowed down serialization dramatically. With all that said, on April 30, 2026, Tabata finally concluded the story with chapter 392. This was a huge moment for the manga, and it opened the gate for the anime to finally finish the story in its own medium. The anime previously took a hiatus in 2021 due to a lack of manga content, but 2026 is the year it returns.
Studio Pierrot had previously officially announced the anime's return on December 21, 2025 at Jump Festa 2026 with a new teaser. Excitement has been building ever since, and with the upcoming return of the anime with Black Clover Season 2, we received a brand new visual from Studio Pierrot on July 2nd, 2026.
This new visual introduces the three main characters of Black Clover – Asta, Yuno and Noelle. What is particularly eye-catching is their appearance. All three characters are in their strong forms. Asta takes on his Devil Union form while Yuno engages in his Spirit Dive and Noelle transforms into Valkyrie Dress. This is a hint of the exciting battles to come in Black Clover Season 2 where they will have to use their maximum abilities.

Black Clover: The 7 Biggest Ending Problems
The ending of Black Clover is satisfying to many longtime fans of the series, but it still has a few noticeable flaws.
Black Clover officially returns in October 2026 with Season 2
The return of Black Clover is now closer than ever. After a long and boring hiatus, we know when the next adaptation of Black Clover will return, titled 'Season 2'. Black Clover Season 2 officially releases in October 2026, which is just a few months away. We don't know the exact release date yet, but new information will be revealed soon, possibly at Anime Expo, where the series is holding its own stage.
With that being said, some fans may get access to the first episode of Black Clover before the rest of us. Anime Expo 2026 has already begun, and fans who attend today, July 4, 2026, can watch the first screening of Black Clover. Specifically, Black Clover Season 2 Episode 1 will be available to watch live for attendees. Fans in attendance should head to the Peacock Theater between 1:30 PM and 2:30 PM PT to see this new episode before everyone else. This could be a great way for them to gauge the quality of what Studio Pierrot plans to deliver before the official global release.
Black Clover Hype is reignited with the new release of the manga and the return of the anime
Black clover was once a massive shonen series with a huge fan base. It was once on par with My Hero Academia in terms of popularity. However, that has long since changed with the hiatuses the manga and anime endured. However, the revival of the story finally sets things right.
The Black Clover manga returned in full force in April, and now we're expecting more content. On August 4, 2026, Black Clover will release its final volume, giving us one more chapter to wrap up the story properly. The anime will also be a huge hit and help the series in terms of sales. While the original Black Clover anime was a weaker production, the return with season 2 looks much more promising with a huge upgrade in quality.
Black Clover Season 2 will be available to stream on Crunchyroll.
