The concept of Taijutsu was first introduced in Naruto franchise in Naruto Chapter #5 from October 26, 1999 and expanded when Rock Lee's character was brought into focus in Naruto Chapter #36, 26 years ago. Since then, Taijutsu has become the basis of Naruto's fighting system. IN Boruto In the era, Taijutsu is more important than ever, thanks to the existence of certain characters with the ability to absorb any form of ninjutsu, and genjutsu is practically irrelevant in the story.
Taijutsu can make or break an individual in a powerful fight, and with such renewed importance attached to it, it's no surprise that Boruto she has officially chosen her new Taijutsu god. While Might Guy and Rock Lee were always at the top as some of the most powerful Taijutsu users, Boruto made sure that both of them were surpassed by none other than the Seventh Hokage of Konoha, Naruto Uzumaki, who reached an unparalleled peak when it came to personal combat, the true nature of which was officially shown in his Boruto Nautshirush Duel in Boruto Nautshirush. Generation Chapters #52 inches V-jump Issue 1 of November 20, 2020.

After 21 years, Boruto says goodbye to the Jinchuriki forever
Jinchuriki were the heart of the Naruto series, but they are being phased out in Boruto.
Naruto Uzumaki surpassed Might Guy and Rock Lee as the new God of Taijutsu in the Boruto era
In the Naruto era, Might Guy was fairly well known as the strongest user of Taijutsu. In the Fourth Great Ninja War, Guy used the Eight Inner Gates abilities on numerous occasions, such as when he defeated Kisama in Naruto Chapter #506 on September 6, 2010, and later when he fought against Madara Uchiha in Naruto chapter 669 on March 19, 2014. By unlocking all eight gates, Madara Might Guy reached a level that was hard to match. Even the 10 Tails Jinchuriki, Madara Uchiha, struggled to deal with him and his strongest attacks such as Night Guy, which was so powerful that it began to bend the space around him in Naruto Chapter #672, an astounding feat for anyone to do when it comes to Taijutsu.
“True Inner Gate Formation is a technique that will remove the limiters of your powers and push them to their furthest limits. When you release all the limiters, your power will increase tenfold more than tenfold, even beyond the limit of the five kage.” — Kakashi Hatake explains the True Inner Gates, Naruto Chapter #669
While Might Guy was extremely powerful, his career ended after the battle with Madara Uchiha and as such he was greatly weakened. This means that in the Boruto era, Rock Lee has grown to master all Eight Gates, including the Gate of Death, and surpass Might Guy. Despite this, he is not the strongest user of Taijutsu currently. The god of Taijutsu is none other than Naruto Uzumaki, the Seventh Hokage, who surpassed them all. With the abilities of the Six Paths, Naruto Uzumaki had reached such a level with Taijutsu that he left everyone else in the dust, and this was evident in his various encounters against the Otsutsuki.
“The way I am now, I feel like I can change everything!” — Naruto Uzumaki explains his Six Paths fan, Naruto Chapter #672

Boruto officially introduces the new strongest ability Mangekyo Sharingan
The Mangekyo Sharingan is a powerful Uchiha ability and is officially upgraded in terms of power in Boruto.
Naruto's Baryon Mode Taijutsu surpasses all Otsutsuki
Naruto Uzumaki being declared a Taijutsu God was first made clear in The Last: Naruto the Movie where he faced Toneri Otsutsuki in 2014. In this sensational battle, Naruto was forced to rely primarily on Taijutsu, and his final blow to Toneri was so powerful that he basically broke the crust of the moon by himself. Naruto was also able to slash with a sword that split an entire moon in half, showing off his immense durability and endurance in battle and putting him above even Guy in terms of physicality. Naruto Uzumaki then fought against the fused Momoshiki Otsutsuki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 9 on January 30, 2017. Much to the surprise of all fans, Naruto was able to fight against him even in his base form. Once he used the power of Six Paths Sage Mode, he was not only able to match him, but even overpowered him in terms of Taijutsu, as was clearly seen in the chapter.
Naruto: No, you're not human. You're just a monster.
Momoshiki: If you're talking about monsters, there are two of us.
— Momoshiki complements Naruto's power, Boruto Chapter 8
While all of this alone was impressive enough to establish Naruto as the God of Taijutsu over Guy and Leo, what really sealed the deal was Naruto Uzumaki harnessing the power of Baryon Mode in the Isshiki arc. In this particular battle, which began to unfold in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter 52 in V-Jump Issue #1 on November 20, 2020, Naruto Uzumaki used his own chakra and combined it with Kurama's to create a new form of energy in a process similar to nuclear fusion. Using this power, Naruto's strength soared to a level even above Isshiki, making him the strongest mortal in the entire universe, surpassed only by Shibai Otsutsuki.
“Unbelievable!! With this new power, they are even. No, Naruto is actually beating him!!” — Sasuke Uchiha confirms that Naruto's Taijutsu skills are higher than Isshiki Otsutsuki's, Boruto Chapter #52
While using Baryon mode, Naruto primarily relied on hand to hand combat in his battle against Isshiki and the level he displayed was such that even this legendary Otsutsuki who outclassed almost every character in the verse couldn't even scratch him. Naruto's Taijutsu was incredibly effective and this battle, which officially ended in Boruto: Naruto Next Generation Chapter #53, in December 2020, declared the Seventh Hokage as the God of Taijutsu.
Who is that character?

Why is Naruto's Taijutsu without the Six Paths of Power still the strongest among Shinobi
Unfortunately in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Chapter #55, The Seventh Hokage has officially lost access to Kurama's power. Without this power, he can no longer use his strongest abilities, meaning that his Taijutsu skills have now been degraded immensely. That said, Naruto should not be underestimated when it comes to Taijutsu. In the battle against Momoshiki, Naruto showed enough skill to hold his own against Otsutsuki without even engaging in Sage Mode, quite a feat that few in the world can match.
“Be good Naruto. And don't follow me straight to death.” — Kurama saying goodbye to Naruto Uzumaki after death, Boruto Chapter #55
What's more, Naruto Uzumaki is already lined up to receive a major upgrade upon his return in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex. This was confirmed in Boruto Volume #8, June 4, 2026, where series creator Mikio Ikemoto stated that Sasuke Uchiha grew immensely stronger during the timeskip by training with Boruto Uzumaki. He reached a level where he could inflict previous injuries on the Code, as was clearly seen in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter #5 dated December 20, 2023. This subsequently means that Naruto Uzumaki, Konoha's Seventh Hokage, also has a significant power boost upon his return.
For now, Naruto Uzumaki's return is not close as the series is focused on bringing Sasuke back in a new arc that officially began on May 20, 2026 in V-Jump Issue #7. Naruto Uzumaki may then return with Sasuke's return, and when he does, his new upgrade will once again establish him at the top as the God of Taijutsu.
All chapters of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex by Mikio Ikemoto are available to read through Manga Plus and Viz Media.
