As with any new one Cod multiplayer experience, Black Ops 6 brings new maps for players to explore and master. New maps are fun and interesting, but players love when developers decide to bring back old favorites (like Nuketown, which is available in BO6). Some classic Black Ops however, the maps remain forgotten and have yet to be returned. Here is a list of the best forgotten maps from Black Ops games that should come back BO6.

6 Hanoi (Black Ops 1)

It is fought under the moonlight

Black Ops 1 Hanoi map

Released
November 9, 2010

Hanoi was initially a medium sized map Black Ops which took place at night and was set in a Vietnamese prison. The map was dark and dirty and created a great atmosphere to go with it Black Ops 1hidden theme – and the Cold War period in the game.

Hanoi had a lot of characters and featured Treyarch's successful three-lane system, but in a more complex way than other maps in the game. No way it came back Call of Duty since its introduction, but it's a map that many have fond memories of, so perhaps the developers are eyeing a resurrection in Black Ops 6. It would be amazing to see the moonlit map remastered, as the development of graphics capabilities would allow the developers to make Hanoi look much more impressive than its original version.

5 Kawloon (Black Ops 1)

The Forgotten Rooftops of Hong Kong

Black Ops 1 Kawloon Map

With so many Zombies maps found in many Call of Duty titles, they deserve a remake when Black Ops 6 comes out.

Kawloon saw players jumping between rooftops in Hong Kong. It was a fairly small map, but it had two zip lines that helped players get from one rooftop to another. Players were thus exposed, but had a sense of risk and reward that many could not resist. The atmosphere of the map was moody, with rain drumming on the roofs; it could be beautifully remade with modern capabilities in terms of graphic fidelity.

4 Berlin Wall (Black Ops 1)

Buried in history

Berlin Wall Map in Black Ops 1

Released
November 9, 2010

Iconic DLC map from Black Ops 1 The Berlin Wall, with its extremely famous historical setting, has yet to be rebuilt Call of Duty. The map was unique in that it contained a no-man's land in the middle where players were destroyed by automatic turrets if they tried to enter. This split the map in two, but there was a small path leading from one side to the other.

The unique layout has created interesting gameplay that favors those who prefer to camp with a sniper or a long-range weapon. The map has yet to be redesigned, probably due to its historical setting, which really only fits the Cold War era. However, it would be great to see an updated version of the map in Black Ops 6 where the Berlin Wall came down after the 1989 protests.

3 Villa (Black Ops 1)

An estate fit for a Cuban king

Black Ops Villa Map 1

Released
November 9, 2010

Villa is one of the more complicated and larger maps in Black Ops 1featuring a large estate set in Cuba. It had an unremarkable layout, with a circular driveway to the estate that was dangerous to walk through, as well as side roads that led to the mansion.

The Call of Duty series has had its ups and downs. Here's how all the major straight forward games fared and ranked.

This map had a lot of flow and a nice range of ranges, as players often found melee combat inside the mansion, but mid-range cannons and even snipers ran rampant along the sides and other paths. It has not been seen since Black Ops 1so it's a great choice for a remaster as many would never play it and those who do will be happy to see it enhanced with modern graphics.

2 Carrier (Black Ops 2)

On Open Waves

Black Ops 1 Carrier Map

Released
November 13, 2012

Map with an adventure setting, Carrier from Black Ops 2 puts players on the high seas — more specifically, on a Chinese aircraft carrier. This map was fairly open, but also had a lot of cover, resulting in a large number of viable weapons and ranges on the map. The map was designed very well, with cover created by planes, containers and other objects that players would find on an aircraft carrier.

An exploded plane in the middle of the map created a king of the hill situation as players could climb to the top of it and gain some vantage points. The map also featured several discrete side routes that presented flanking opportunities, sneaky angles, and clever plays to avoid the hectic firefights usually found in the center of the map.

1 Plaza (Black Ops 2)

Prestigious resort

Black Ops 1 Plaza Map

Released
November 13, 2012

Finally, there's Plaza, a map that isn't talked about much but has been extremely popular with players. Players take place on a floating resort in the Indian Ocean and battle it out at night in a luxury shopping mall with bright colors and lights. The charm of the Plaza wasn't just in its luxurious setting, as its three-lane layout was sensitively crafted, creating a great flow and balance between close and mid-range firefights.

Tight corners inside buildings, lines of sight through storefronts, and purposefully placed cover meant players had the freedom to use whatever weapon they wanted, be it a sniper or an SMG. Despite being one of the Black Ops 2 A fan-favorite map, they seem to have been forgotten, making them a great candidate for a return to the franchise.
