If you thought Duke Nukem like franchises was dead and gone, then think. The Duke will come back, just not, as you think, because Adi Shankar, who helped to lead to Life Castlevania and recently Devil May Cry, gained rights to franchise.

Devil May Cry 5 did not age a day
Due to the television show Netflix Devil May Cry experienced a sudden increase in popularity. We returned to DMC 5 to see if it passed the time test.
In an interview with Esquire, Shankar revealed that while he was approached with more IPS, he recently bought rights to Duke Nukem IP from the gearbox, just not the rights.
When asked what his vision of the adaptation of the Duke Nukem looks like, Shankar should say:
He's a middle finger for everyone. When the Duke of Nukem threw into the air, she sat around people and tried to turn her into a brand when it's just the middle finger. Duke Nukem cannot be made by society, because when the corporation makes Duke Nukem, he is no longer a Duke of Nuke. I don't intend to have someone to tell me what to do.
At the moment, it is not clear when the potential adaptation of the shooter will be released, because Shankar has his hands in more projects, but one thing is clear: he understands what Duke Nukem is doing, well, the Duke of Nukem.
Shankar quickly became a person's adaptation of video games
In addition to his work on Devil May Cry, which was recently green for Season 2, Shankar has several other projects in the episodes, all revolving around video games.
In 2017 it was revealed that Shankar would hold anime concentrated around the franchise of Assassin's Creed. It is not clear whether this project is still in progress, but the article is referred to. Elsewhere, Hyper Light Drifter was also announced to make adaptation with Shankar. If that was not enough, in 2021 it revealed that PUBG received adaptation, also from Shankar.
Which means Shankar is quite busy and has hands in many projects. The next one on the Duke Nukem list is not literally said what will happen next.
