When Dragon Ball Super: Beerus was announced at Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri earlier this year in late January, Dragon Ball fans naturally assumed that the new anime would remake the entire series. Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 just added fuel to the fire by revealing the news Dragon Ball: Frieza an anime that is about to be remade Resurrection F this fall. Unfortunately, a recent leak from a trusted series an insider suggests that the remake won't even adapt the anime's two best story arcs.
There were rumors that Dragon Ball Super the remake will not remaster either the Goku Black Saga or the Tournament of Power, two arcs that are significantly different in the manga and would benefit most from a revision. Dragon Ball Anime insider Ajay revealed on X that everyone on the remake's production crew has left the series to work on Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrola new anime that adapts Moro Saga, which means Dragon Ball Super the remake will only cover Battle of the Gods, Resurrection Fand the Universe 6 Tournament, ending after 18 to 20 episodes.

Dragon Ball Super Remake will only advance to the Universe 6 tournament
With the company's entire production staff Dragon Ball Super the remake is now working exclusively on Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol anime by Anime Ajay, fans will have to skip to the original Dragon Ball Super anime Goku Black Saga and Tournament of Power to continue the story. It was leaked Dragon Ball Super: Beerus there will be 6 episodes Dragon Ball Super: Frieza will be 5 or 6 and anime Universe 6 will be 8 or 9.
These are the only three sagas that were remastered before the shift to the Moro arc. The good news in all of this is that Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol it will come out sooner. Provided Dragon Ball Super: Beerus first week in October and lasts 20 weeks, Dragon Ball fans could realistically see the anime's take on the Moro Saga as early as late 2026 — though an early 2027 release seems much more realistic because Galactic Patrol the anime will have to animate the story from scratch, as opposed to simply remaking and remastering pre-existing footage.

The downside is that any new fans hoping for a series with Dragon Ball Super the remake will have to start the old anime halfway through or risk getting lost once it dives into the Moro Saga.

In a tweet following his original post on X, Anime Ajay wrote: “Seems like a lot of you took it to mean it would NEVER happen. That's not what's being said here. Just that it covers those initial arcs before Plague. I'd be surprised if the rest isn't done in the interim while pre-production for the next manga is done.” It would make sense to Dragon Ball Super The team wants to prioritize the momentum of the new anime, as opposed to the remake, while capitalizing on the hype behind Moro Saga.
