Every Jaw Titan user, rated

The Titans acted as the primary antagonists for most of them Attack on Titan. In its 10-year run, the anime introduced several titans who were feared for their size and destruction. Titans like the Colossal could wipe out cities in one fell swoop, while the Titan and the Armored Titan were feared for their strength and agility.

Each, unique in their own way, influenced anime in different ways. But compared to the other titans, the Jaw Titan is considerably smaller. Instead of relying on size, he relies on his speed and strong jaws/claws to make him a disturbing foe. During Attack on Titan, there were several heirs to the Jaw titan. Let's take a look at them all and see who was the strongest and had the most influence!

Marcel Galliard

attack on titan-marcel

A member of the Warrior Unit sent by Marley to infiltrate Paradis Island, Marcel Galliard was the first known heir to the Jaw Titan. His friends and brother Porco considered him a kind and caring person. Unlike his other comrades, he realized the tragedy behind becoming a Titan, so in order to save Porco from such a tragedy, he influenced the superiors to choose Reiner over Porco.

He revealed this fact to Reiner before infiltrating Shiganshina, but before they could discuss it further. A Pure Titan appeared and attacked Reiner. Without thinking, Marcel pushed Reiner away and was eaten alive instead. This Pure Titan turned out to be Ymir, whom Reiner and the others met years later. We never really got to see Marcel's powers in action; therefore, despite its potential, it is at the bottom of the list.

Ymir

attack on titan-ymir

At a young age, the nameless homeless girl was named Ymir after the first titan Ymir Fritz. Now worshiped as a goddess by cult members, she began to feel the meaning of her futile life. But eventually the cult was discovered by the Marleyan authorities and the blame fell on Ymir for deceiving the others. As punishment, she was banished to Paradis Island, where she lived as a Pure Titan for the next 60 years. When she ate Marcela, this cycle ended and she gained the power of the Jaw Titan.

In Season 2, Episode 5, when Historia and the others were in danger, Ymir transformed into the Jaw Titan and saved them. Unlike other Jaw Titans, her transformation lacked any specialized jaws or claws. He even closely resembled her pure Titan form, but still possessed immense speed and considerable strength. She was also able to partially communicate while in her titan form. Ultimately, she decided to leave Paradis Island and presumably gave up and handed over the powers to Porco. Ymir was able to stand up to the other Pure Titans head on, but lacking the signature jaws and claws, he is definitely weaker than the other heirs.

Porco Galliard

attack on titan-porco

Originally intended as an armored titan, Porco was left behind due to his brother's influence. Years later, Reiner and Bertolt returned with Ymir, allowing Porc to become the new Jaw Titan. We got to see Marley in action for the first time as he fought the forces of the Middle East. Like other Jaw Titan users, he was fast and used his claws and jaws to attack. He easily destroyed enemy defenses with his nimble attacks. But Porco's Jaw Titan was also defensively strong. He had a face similar to the armor he used to protect Gabi and Falco.

Also, the crushing force behind his jaws is probably the strongest of all titans. When Eren fought the Titan War Hammer, Eren tried to break the protective crystal created by Lara Tybur. But Eren forcefully used Galliard's jaws to easily break the crystal and gain the Titan Warhammer powers. He had the most combat experience of all the Jaw Titan heirs and gave his life only as a means to save someone else.

Falco Grice

Falco was one of the candidates to inherit Reiner's Armored Titan. He was a kind-hearted boy who sympathized with Eren and even sent letters on his behalf. But when he realized he was being used by Eren, it was too late and Marley was attacked by Paradis Island. A series of attacks and plans followed. Zeke mixed his spinal fluid with Marleyan wine, which he offered to the Paradis military officers. Unfortunately, Falco also ingested this wine and Zeke turned him into a Pure Titan.

Zeke also ordered Falco to attack Reiner, who was already preoccupied with fighting Eren. Reiner was close to death when Falco nearly ripped the back of his head off. It was at this point that Porco appeared and offered himself to Falco. Falco's Jaw Titan has similar strengths to its predecessors, but also has the unique ability to fly. His appearance was also quite bird-like, which was likely a result of ingesting the Beast Titan's spinal fluid.

Valnet - Crunchyroll Ad Preview

Falco used his Titan to help Pieck and the other friends. But he accidentally lost control and almost hurt others. But most importantly, he made a significant contribution in the final arc by transporting others using his wings. His Jaw Titan was the most advanced yet; he not only had the strength and speed of the Jaw Titan, but also the versatile mobility that his wings provided.

Although there were only four heirs to the Jaw Titan, their lives and journeys are strongly intertwined. Instead of different stories, it feels like a singular story connected over time. Do you agree with this list? If not, what changes would you make?
