SANAA: A Yemeni official said on Wednesday that 30 people were killed and hundreds displaced in flooding in the southern city of Hodeidah after days of heavy rains. Hodeidah Governor Mugammad Qahim told Houthi rebel-controlled Masirah TV that the floods had driven people from 500 homes. According to him, five people are missing. Hodeidah, the city of Taiz in the southwest and the city of Hajjah in the northwest were hit hard by flooding this week during Yemen's ongoing seasonal rains, which caused floods that swept away poorly built houses.
