Fortnite players really don't like Peter B. Parker's Spider-Verse Skin

Key things

  • Fortnite just added some new Spider-Man skins from Across the Spider-Verse.

  • However, the inclusion of Peter B. Parker has upset some fans as it rocks a particularly unique design.

  • Peter doesn't have his classic Spider-Man suit, and there's no way to mask him or take away his robes.

Fortnite fans are really not happy with Peter B. Parker's Spider-Verse skin because it uses his pink fluffy robe look from Across the Spider-Verse and doesn't offer a cloaked variant.

Although the use of Battle Passes in Fortnite has become both a widely accepted and expected part of every new season and almost every game with live services, it has one major drawback – characters and crossovers are locked forever after being tied to the Pass. There are endless examples, but one of the bigger ones is Spider-Man.

Spider-Man's classic comic-book style appearance was introduced in Chapter 3, Season 1, and acted as the final Battle Pass reward of the season. So there are many players who don't have the classic Spider-Man look and probably never will, so any chance to get a new Spidey is an exciting time for those who missed out.

Peter B. Parker is not the Spider-Man you were hoping for

When it was first announced that more Spider-Verse crossover skins were on the way, fans were excited about the possibility of Peter B. Parker taking on the classic Spidey look as a purchasable Fortnite skin. However, now that the skins are out, it's clear that's not the case at all.

Instead of having Peter B. Parker in his classic outfit, Fortnite went with the robe and slippers look from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. While it's a fun nod to how he looked throughout the movie, fans aren't happy with how Epic decided to go with it, as many of them made clear on Reddit and Twitter.

The main issue players have with Peter B. Parker's appearance is that unlike Hobie, he has no style options or alternate appearances. Fans were hoping to see him in a masked variant, or even the tracksuit look he had in Into the Spider-Verse. Basically, they wanted anything as long as he was in a fluffy robe.

Normally this wouldn't be such a problem, but considering how long fans have waited for a chance to have another classic Spider-Man look, it's extra annoying that Peter entered the scene without even his mask to choose from. While it pisses me off, Peter B. Parker is totally coming clean and rocking the dad look, so I'm one of the few who's happy.
