Upgrades & Tuning

  • Adjustments have been made to the physics of Drag Tires to bring them more in line with their expected behavior.

    • Notes for developers: The team noticed that the Drag tires significantly reduced the Performance Index (PI) while still providing enough lateral grip to effectively perform as a tire for several types of racing outside of Drag Racing. This is not the expected behavior or use case for Drag Tires. To mitigate this issue, we've made some adjustments that ensure Drag Tires are no longer the optimal tire choice outside of drag racing.

In addition, we have kept the PI price of the Drag Tires, which means that any tune that currently exists, for example the tune that is the A 700, will not change the PI, but will have significantly reduced cornering performance.

The team realizes that this means there are many leaderboard items that will need to be removed. This will be an ongoing process as we work to identify and remove all lap times that were set with Drag Tires prior to this patch.

It is important to note that this change will only affect the cornering performance of Drag Tires, so drag times and drag leaderboards will not be affected by this change.
