Given this, it's no surprise that players can come up with their own little tricks for luck when playing Zombies mode. Gamer McHarzberg experienced his own “nostalgic superstition” that paid off in a clip shared with the CODZombies Reddit community. The clip shows McHarzberg performing a good luck ritual before opening a Call of Duty Zombies mystery box.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies Lucky Ritual brings an incredible result
As seen in the clip, McHarzberg's lucky ritual consists of shooting the corners of a mystery box, pressing the latch and spinning it around twice before opening it, then jumping up and down as the box cycles through its potential rewards. A mysterious box that randomly drops out Black Ops 6 Zombies weapon, hands out one of the mod's most powerful weapons, the Thrustodyne M23.
for years Zombies players have claimed with varying degrees of seriousness that doing things like stabbing a mystery box or performing a series of bizarre moves while opening the box will improve results. Mystery boxes are designed to give out random rewards, and there is no evidence to suggest that such rituals actually affect the drop rate of desirable weapons. Fellow Zombies players were amused by the happy outcome, joking that someone had finally “cracked the code” and performed a lucky ritual that actually worked. Even McHarzberg acknowledged that their receipt of the powerful jet gun was likely not due to the ritual itself, calling the result “1% skill, 99% nostalgic superstition”.
While most players recognize that such lucky rituals are purely a product of myth and superstition, it's still fun to see one of these evolve to a player's advantage. One of the most attractive parts Call of Duty Zombies was its embrace of mystery and a long-term narrative that keeps players invested despite the setbacks caused by recent Black Ops 6 Zombies leaks.
