Gundam By Evangelion Studio premieres in the US in February

New in December Gundam mobile suit the series has been announced and people in the US will be watching it in theaters! It's the first Gundam produced by Sunrise in collaboration with Khara studio, producer Evangelion Restoration (and the studio currently holds the rights to the Evangelion series).

The series has a title Gundam Mobile Suit GQuuuuuuX (“GQuuuuuuuX” should be pronounced “G-Quacks”) and will be written Hideaki Anna and Yoji Enokido. The director is Kazuya Tsurumaki. Anno is a creator Evangelionand Enokido and Tsurumaki worked on at least some parts of the series.

What can fans expect from Hideaki Anno's Gundam series?

This was announced by GKIDS acquired the rights to the prologue film, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Start-and it will be in North American (US and probably Canada) theaters on February 28, 2025.

The film is a prologue to the TV series, the premiere date of which has not yet been announced. The production team is likely to reveal more information soon as the film is already showing in Japan.

This new story takes place in a colony in space. Amate Yuzuriha is an ordinary girl attending school until she meets Nyaan, a war refugee, and learns about clan battles, illegal fighting using mobile suits. This is where GQuuuuuuX comes in, as he will be piloted by Amate in these battles. The thing is, the space forces and the police are after her.

Other employees who participated in the production are Take it (Pokemon Sun & Moon) as character designer and Ikuto Yamashita (Shin Kamen Rider, Evangelion) as a mechanical designer.

Anna is involved in the series

While Anno is writing the scripts, Tsurumaki is apparently keeping the final results from him. According to Ikuto Yamashita, the project is under the supervision of only Tsurumaki:

Gundam Mobile Suit GQuuuuuuX he is overseen by Kazuya Tsurumaki. He decides everything as a director. Anno may give him some sideline support, but that's about it. As president of Khara, Anno will be kept informed of the project's progress. However, [Tsurumaki] it hides everything until the last moment, so that there is no rollover or the need to repeat everything.

GQuuuuuuX it is likely that the show that everyone who has not seen the others Gundam series can look forward to.
