The second of this trio of bosses is Zellfel Zam Schultiger, a boss with a name unlike most others in the game, and who is remarkably just a very angry dog. Of course, a trained dog is as dangerous as any killer. Here's how to defeat them and get even deeper into the castle.

Preparation for Zellfel Zam Schultiger

Since most of the bosses in Valestein Castle will be fought in relatively close proximity to each other, most of the same advice applies to everyone. As such, this information could be applied in broad strokes to all dungeons, with an additional nod to Zellfel Zam Schultiger.

• Get to level 35 to make sure your base stats are high enough to survive the battle without it dragging on too long.

• At this point you should have both Battle Armor and Battle Shield. Fully upgrade them if you can afford it before this boss fight to make things go a little smoother.

• The Ignis bracelet will be a great helper here, so make sure you have every ruby you can still find.

• Get the Talisman of War give Randolph the Jade Ring from Antonio. This will increase the duration of your Boost Mode, which can be used against the boss.

How to defeat Zellfel Zam Schultiger

The battle against Zellfel Zam Schultiger takes place in an a completely sidescrolling arenawhich makes it difficult to dodge many boss moves. This is the reason the Ignis bracelet is your best friend in this fightYou'll want to keep as much distance from the boss as possible, as they can get close quite quickly.

The boss himself has no tricksnor do they gain any new moves or change phase as their HP decreases. They are exactly what they look like, only deceptively heavy. Let's quickly break down their moves:

• They run and perform a jump in the air. That can be avoid by not jumping to meet them.

• The boss stands still and breathes a stream of fire across one length of the arena. Jump to the opposite side of them to avoid it.

• A pack of smaller wolves is summoned and runs across the arena. Jump over them in the opposite direction with the Ventus Braceletor run through them using the Terra bracelet.

• The boss curls up into a ball and bounces around the arena. They are then open to attack for a few seconds.

• They jump into the air and slam down. Just jump to avoid the attack.

And that's about all they can do. The trickiest attack to avoid is their jump attack as it is easy to mistake it for a slam. This is a big reason to keep your distance from them. Or simply use Terra Bracelet to negate the attack if you are not sure which ones they will play.

If the boss is cornered, activate Double Boost and lay into them with an extended combo. During the attack, they can be stunned and trapped until your Boost ends. Other than that, shoot to melt them with fireballs whenever possible and only run around with physical attacks when you're out of MP.

After being defeated, they will fall the key object of the Holy Crosspotentially the last item you need to progress to the dungeons of Valestein Castle.
