How to get every glyph in Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered allows fans to revisit both of these classic games, but both have elements that make them unique from each other. One such mechanic is glyphs. The glyphs are part of the original Soul Reaver this allows players to harness immense power and then unleash it.

A whole new set of glyphs was planned to appear Soul Reaver 2but the decision to include them was eventually overturned. While they are fun to use, only one of them is needed to complete the game – the Glyph Spirit.

How to get every glyph in Soul Reaver

When players start the game, they will only have one glyph available. This glyph will allow them to transition between the spectral realm and the material plane. Shifting into the Spectral Realm can be done at any time, but shifting the Material Plane is a different story. Before players can move to the Material Plane, they will need to find specially marked locations on the map in the Spectral Realm and be at full health.

Glyph name

The Power of Glyphs

How to get

Spirit Glyph

Shifts Raziel between the Spectral Realm and the Material Plane.

Available at the start of the game.

Force glyph

Its effect pushes all enemies away. Great when the player feels overwhelmed.

After you kill Melchiah, go back to the first water room. Jump down and move to the spectral realm. Go through the gate using your new power and follow the path up to find a giant face in the wall along with 3 obelisks. Push on all three obelisks to trigger a cutscene that will reveal the Glyph of Power.

Stone glyph

Stuns all enemies in its effective range.

Return to Melchiah's estate using the fast travel gate. After leaving through the gate door, you can jump into the water and move back to the spectral realm. Go forward along the path and you will see a ledge that you will need to high jump to. After this ledge there will be a place you can use to return to the Material Plane. Move here and then climb the wall using your bounty from defeating Zephon. Follow this path, kill Melchiah's relatives and solve the block puzzle at the end to find the Glyph Statue to get the Glyph Stone.

Sound glyph

This Glyph will injure and stun all your enemies in its effective range.

This Glyph can be obtained after you are able to fire projectiles. From the entrance to the Silenced Cathedral, turn right and along the way you will find a pair of large wooden doors. Make your way through this door and up into a room with large pipes that twist as you move. This will be the room before the puzzle with all the murals. Jump down and follow the path until you see a large white sheet of glass. Destroy it with a projectile, then climb the wall to the newly created opening. Head to the far side of the next room and climb the wall to find a sound glyph symbol. Complete a series of sliding and jumping until you reach another white glass window that you can break. Behind this window will be a large bell that you can ring, but you will need his hammer. You can find the hammer opposite the wall you climbed to reach the sound glyph. Now that you know where the bell is, you can throw the hammer to get it into the room and then pick it up and ring it. This will reveal the sound glyph.

Fire Glyph

With the power of the Fire Glyph, Raziel can burn both vampires and humans instantly.

After the player defeats Rahab, they gain the ability to swim in water. To get out, players will have to go back to the room where they broke the stained glass window. Players then swim down and use their projectiles to break the submerged stained glass windows. This leads them to a room full of sacks of vampire eggs. Players will find a beam of sunlight coming from one of the arches. Go through it and continue up until you reach a large room. Aim straight as you move up and go through the arch straight ahead. However, players would benefit from getting Fire Reaver in this area first. You will be taken to a room where you can emerge, but not emerge. Instead, turn right and head through the second submerged arch. Follow this path and you will find a pillar with a glyph symbol. Enter this room and you will see a wooden door on one side and an open archway on the other. Both have a number of enemies and cliques. Defeat the enemies and turn all the knobs to gain access to the room with the Fire Glyph statue.

Glyph of sunlight

This is the most powerful Glyph in Raziel's arsenal. It can burn every minor vampire enemy in the game while being harmless to humans.

Return to the Silenced Cathedral again, but this time don't go inside. Instead, look to the right of the entrance and you'll see a gate submerged underwater. Sail along this path to discover underground caves with lighthouses. Activating all the mechanisms will light up the beacons. Enemies like to hide behind corners, so be alert. Follow the light to the glass triangle and find the door underneath. You'll find a wall with a triangle on it with light falling on it before it moves away. Move into the Spectral Realm the moment the light touches it to reveal the Glyph of Sunlight.

Water glyph

This Glyph functions similarly to the Fire Glyph, except that its effects do not affect humans or Rahab's kin.

Return to the Lake of the Dead and set out to defeat Dumah. You'll need to use a high jump while submerged in the water to get on the ledge to reach it. However, there is a path to the left that will take you to the Citadel of Man. There are a few people here that you shouldn't kill. If you do, they will become hostile towards you. There are various blocks that you will need to move in order to raise the water high enough to reach the final Glyph statue.
