IN SolarpunkThe Backpack is a permanent upgrade that expands the player's inventory by an additional bar that adds up to seven extra slots. After picking up a backpack, players can find and use backpack extensions, which are upgrades for the backpack, expanding the inventory with an additional bar (seven slots) for expansion.
Finding the backpack and getting all of the Backpack Upgrades will allow players to essentially double their personal storage space, making it a hugely impressive quality of life upgrade worth getting as soon as possible.
How to lure chicken and get eggs in Solarpunk
In Solarpunk, chickens are farm animals that can be caught in the game world and brought back to base to lay eggs. Here's how it works.
Due to an error when launching the game Backpack was disabled in version 1.0 Solarpunk. However, this bug has now been fixed and the backpack and its upgrades are now available for players to pick up at the intended locations. If you're still encountering this error, it's probably because you haven't updated the game to the latest version.
How to get a backpack in Solarpunk
Backpack location
You can find the backpack at island northwest of the starting islandat the very edge of the travel circle when The airship is upgraded to level 3 (shown in the screenshot above). Once you land on this island, look for a large arch shaped cave formation. You can find the backpack on the side of the rock wall under the arch, right next to two carrots.
Once you pick up your backpack, another line of inventory storage will instantly be added to your personal inventory. This is a permanent upgrade item, meaning that once you pick it up, it will be used forever.
Additional personal storage provided by the backpack will be hidden by default when interacting with chests. You can switch to the backpack inventory by clicking “View Backpack” at the bottom of the inventory. Click “View Inventory” to switch back.
How to get backpack upgrades in Solarpunk
Backpack Upgrade #1
- Requirement: Airship level 4
You can find the first backpack upgrade at the island southeast of the starting islandplaced on the edge of the travel circle when it is The airship is at level 4. Like the backpack itself, this upgrade is located under another arch-like rock formation nestled on the side of the rock face.
Once you land on the island, head north along the length of the island and you'll come across this arch fairly easily. Find the backpack upgrade under the arch and work with it to instantly apply it to your character. This will add another row of extra inventory to your expanded personal storage.
Backpack upgrades will only work if you already have a backpack. If you don't, they won't add anything extra to your inventory.
Backpack Upgrade #2
- Requirement: Airship level 5
You can find the second Backpack Upgrade at an ice island that is right on the western edge of the mapaccessible only when The airship is upgraded to level 5maximum level. When you arrive at the island, do not land on its surface. Instead, look at the bottom of the floating island and you'll see a small area with a single tree that you can land your airship on.
Jump down here and you'll find a Backpack Upgrade right next to the tree. Pick it up to expand your inventory again.
